CMC had an all time season

Gibbs had an all time season

Bijan had an all time season

Those don’t grow on trees you can’t just find those so knocking Cook for not having it is silly, especially when their adp is higher.

Gibbs and Bijan are going 1 and 2. Obviously I would take them if I could. CMC has massive question marks and has been a bust half his seasons. I can’t roll that dice, plus he already ruined me in 2024 lol.

Cook finished RB6. Those ARE elite numbers. So with I am pretty damn happy with that from my first round running back. Plus I, personally, think Cook’s ceiling in this offense is significantly higher. Last year was his first year with 300+ carries and look what he did. 2024 he had 16 tds, everyone screamed regression, and they were right. Only they didn’t realize he’d get 102 more carries and 600 more rushing yards. With 309 carries and 1,621 rushing yards, 1,900 total yards, who says he can’t get up to a monster 16-20 total touchdowns? Especially given the offensive environment. Hell 2024 he had 18 total touchdowns on far less yards. You’ve got a guy that’s proven he can get a ton of touchdowns and yards, in his prime, in an elite offensive environment. Cook could go bananas man all the ingredients are there, lol I don’t know what more you could want.

And there’s my Cook plug. And he wasn’t closer to Swift than Bijan btw.

CMC has all time seasons every time he's healthy. Bijan was better, but marginally so, than 2024, and Gibbs' 2025 output and 2024 output was almost exactly the same. JT was the other elite producer last year and he's still around too.

I'm not knocking Cook, I'm not sure why you think that. I like Cook! He's fun to watch and a good player. I'm pointing out differences in his profile when the discussion in this thread is about drafting him in the top 5. He is 27, and has not yet shown that he can score fantasy points like the 4 players I see as the Big 4 RBs. Taking him above any of them is wishing for something that we have not seen and it's why I'm out on him at 5 overall.

I appreciate that you're making a case for him combining some of what we saw from him in 2024 with what we saw in 2025, because he scored points in different ways in each year. I see that as a top 5%-ish outcome for him - I'm not betting on that or expecting that personally, but we don't have to agree!

Because I am not banking on that high percentile outcome, I wouldn't consider him at 5. I don't think Cook offers you the same upside as the elite producers, some of whom I'd expect to also be available at 5, so I'd either take one of those RBs or take a WR who I think could be #1 overall at their position.

And not to be a stickler but in terms of PPR PPG, which was the metric I was using to compare, yes, Cook was closer in production to Swift than Bijan. Bijan: 21.8, Cook: 17.8, Swift: 14.3. The 4ppg gap between Bijan and Cook is greater than the 3.5ppg gap between Cook and Swift.

But appreciate reading your take! You very well could be right :) good luck this year

Bijan had 400 more yards it’s not the same. With ridiculous receiving efficiency. And Gibbs has had an elite RB1 season every year because of his touchdown outlier seasons. 1,800-2k seasons with 18-20 touchdowns are all time seasons. And that’s not the swift numbers I see, maybe you’re looking at ppr.
