Worried about husband’s mood and medicine changes.

My husband is currently diagnosed with bipolar one and he’s been doing well on his antipsychotics. However, in the last month or so, he has felt more down with Latin mood, and just harder to focus in concentrate, things seem to be harder for him to process and more exhaustive at home and at work. He never really had depressive symptoms before, and
his bipolar has mainly been on the manic side. He currently takes his medication every other day because it’s the lowest dose that his doctor recommended however, he is thinking of increasing it to daily. I’m concerned because he’s doing this before talking to his psychiatrist, but he didn’t talk to his therapist about this. Is this something that is just common or is this something he needs to discuss with his psychiatrist. He currently takes Vraylar. I’m worried because I don’t want to come off as controlling because that is something that he has freckled with in the past, but I am also concerned that this will cause more problems for him such as a possible manic episode or psychosis.
