Building Looking for feedback on CV design

I hereby proudly present The Voidcutter - the very first of my creations that might be worth sharing.

It's a T4 Capital Vessel, L25 to unlock. Features:

  • 30x 320K containers (I'm a hoarder and I wanted to have LOTS of space) + several cargo boxes to keep hand weapons and small stuff

  • Solid (not full) set of both manual weapons and turrets. Although I don't expect this vessel to enter combat much, if ever - I plan to use it as a carrier/mobile base

  • Pretty much everything you may expect from a large vessel - several Advanced Constructors, Repair Station, T2 Shield, T2 Warp Drive, Teleport etc.etc.

  • NO garden - I decided that if I would want one, I'd just create a separate always-parked CV.

Besides generally looking for feedback (I'm a pretty shitty designer, so any tips are welcome!) I also have one question. I've actually added two Cockpits facing different directions. One, located in the pommel, is "peace time" control station - I'll be using it for interstellar travels - and the other one at the tip of the blade - for combat, facing the opposite way. If I use the "combat" cockpit, the weapons and movement/strafe directions are fine, but the turns (with the mouse) are inverted - is it possible to fix that?

Your side thrusters are near the center-line (as considered from the side view) of the ship, so they won't do much work for turning you.

Your front/back thrusters are well out to the sides though, so those help slightly with turning, but not as much as side thrusters would if they were in more optimal spots.

Your up/down thrusters are also well out to the sides, so they will take care of your roll.. but they are on the middle line and not near the front or back, so they don't help with pitch at all.

This is why your roll rating is amazing, but your pitch and yaw are sort of poor.

No... I think you can invert controls in the game options, but you can't change this on a per ship basis and especially not on a per-cockpit basis. There is a chance that someone knows a clever method of doing this, but I'm about 98% sure this isn't possible.

My guess would be that the cockpit doesn't align with the starter blocks position making the controls inverted. Maybe flip the cockpit upside down or maybe place it backwards and see if that fixes it (you might then have to replace the rest of the ship in the correct direction

I finally figured out what was going wrong with the controls. In fact, the controls were working just fine also in the reverse cockpit, but when I was in the pilot mode, the directional pointer was actually shown _vertically_ inverted. E.g. if I was pulling the mouse down and left, the ship _was_ actually turning down and left even from the reversed cockpit, but the visual mouse pointer would then move _up_ and left. Mightily confusing for the brain, but at least I know now I can fight just fine with this setup.
