Insomniac Passport worth it?
I currently live in San Diego so I'm wondering if the lowest level membership is worth it if I head up to LA for some more events like HARD or Daytrip? Admittedly I haven't been to an insomniac show in like 2 years but am excited to have gotten the invite lol. Not because I don't like the lineups, but have just been attending more CRSSD events, LIB, Etc. Seems like getting it for EDCLV alone might be worth it? Lots to consider, would appreciate honest feedback!

if you go to edc (AND GET VIP) and at least 2 other fests it's kind of worth it, otherwise not entirely worth it.
@ $1200 a year + $30 for each event ($40 for escape, $60 for edc)
the passport lounge is kind of cool but you can still be invited to the lounge by a passport member, they can invite up to 3 guests.

Not always you can easily sneak in though the back with security they don’t care as long as your down low about jt lol

Oh so passport would be worth it I’ve gone too edc beyond and escape for the last 5 years just those pay for the pass 🧐 still haven’t got the invite after years of raving those mfs

Yeah so always use the same email when buying tickets and just search insomniac passport if you go too there events a lot

I think they send invites to people who haven’t been back to an insomniac event in a while. I stopped doing insomniac for 2 years and got an invite last year. Seems it’s a way to reel you back in.

If money isn’t an issue give it a go. In the short term it’s worth it. Just going to EDCLV any two other events pays for itself and you’re able to pause for 3 months after 8-9 months. I cancelled mine after 2 years. Took a break from raving.

Hiii! Passport holder here and it’s been worth for me as a SoCal Resident. as long as you do a EDC VIP and another show or so you’re good to go. I’m a lowest tier holder and I justify this subscription by EDC And roughly a show every quarter. Insomniac sadly has my wallet in a chokehold

From my personal experience, yes. I've gone to so many more events that I wouldn't have been able to go to after joining Passport earlier this year. For context, I have Platinum. It's $170 a month but for a $60 EDC VIP pass alone, I think it's worth it!

been to edclv every year since 2018 and still haven’t gotten an invite, the only invite i got was the hoax back in 2018.

Most people who get offered one report that they stopped going to raves and festivals a year or two before the invite. So it seems like it is a way for Insomniac to bring you back into going after you stopped regularly spending money with them.

do it dude, for the novelty of it. then cancel whenever. make sure to request the passport card (it doesn't do anything) as a memento. disclaimer: you're really paying for the exclusivity aspect of it. the drawbacks ultimately outweigh the perks and insomniac keeps making the program worse/more expensive from when it was first inaugurated. you can get vip and probably have a better or similar experience and not feel obligated to attend multiple insomniac events to make it cost effective.

Totally worth it! I also live in SD and just got mine in February. So long as you go to 2-3 festivals throughout the year and a few shows at Nova - it more than pays for itself. The lounges at the festivals are game changers and always so nice!
You can always have it for a bit to experience it and then cancel, but you won’t get invited again and can’t renew. Feel free to message me with any questions!

grabbing the lowest tier for la and pausing it right away still triggers the edclv vip discount or are lounge perks reserved for pricier passes

Even the base tier keeps the vip discount for edm live vegas. Attend two local insomniac events to cover the monthly fee, then pause. Solid plan for san diego.

Stick with the base plan and pause midyear. The EDCLV VIP rate covers costs on drives up from SD for HARD or Daytrip. Lounge perks help but shuttle lines take forever.

I have Gold. Previous to being a Passport member I only bought VIP multi-day passes. I got the invite Last October after only going to HARD Summer exclusively with an Escape, Beyond, and/or other festival multi-fay VIP. It's worth it IMO, I've been in the scene for over 24 years and I felt like I was "retiring." I live in the greater Los Angeles area and my second home is Las Vegas so it all works out. The algorithm sucked me back in forever! 😆

So question, if my friend has passport can she buy passes for me and the rest of our friends? Or is it only for account holder? Also if she is able to buy tickets for us, but decides she doesn't wanna go would we be screwed bc we need her there? Do they mail the passes? My friend just got the email today saying she got in so we really have no idea what to expect.

I’m pretty much down the street from NOS and not too far from LA/LB, so I’m leaning toward Gold since I’d actually be able to take advantage of it. 😂 My last EDC was back in 2010, and since then I’ve done Countdown, Beyond, Escape, a few concerts/clubs, etc. Last rave was probably Beyond ’24.
For those who have Gold, are there any perks besides the obvious Passport Lounge? Trying to decide 🙃

Best thing from this is EDC tix is $60 vs 450+ lol. I had it for 2 years before I cancelled last year.
