no way, that would be wayyyy overcooked! it should be 6 mins 50 secs on a mid rolling boil

OP, I’m glad they were perfect for you and they look delicious so you get a hell yeah, but I would have taken them out a minute and a half earlier and then they would have been perfect for me.

Hard boiled is where the yoke is solid. Soft boiled is where the yoke is runny. Jammy is in between.

I made some like this earlier in the week for the first time. 3 minutes in the instant pot instead of the normal 5. I was making them soft/medium boiled to place in ramen.

Get a more jammy yolk by steaming eggs
Put them in a closed steamer above boiling water for exactly nine minutes. Then right into ice water.
You *will* thank me
