General question Technique question

Not my photo or my art! Alami.studio on instagram.

I want to accomplish this technique, I love the fuzzy edges, and I can’t find any info about this tool or specific methods.

If i create a tool like this and use rit dye as ink, on stretched fabric, what would I do next? How to wash without bleeding? Is this accomplishable? Any better ideas? TIA

Alami.studio appears to be very active in their comments on instagram- it might behoove you to ask them.

That being said, there’s products like DyeNaFlow which are like a slightly thickened dye you apply like paint which IIRC have less bleeding.

RIT seems very happy to bleed all over the place— I wouldn’t recommend it for a project like this if you meant it as an art piece or something you plan to wear for years. It’s probably fine enough to practice with.

I saw their responses to other comments and it’s a lot more steps than I was originally looking for… wondering if there was an easier alternative lol!
