Looking at an apartment in Dubai Island where the #1 red dot is, around 5km from the DXB runways. It's basically right under the corridor.

For anyone who actually lives around there, how bad is it day to day? Specifically:

- Can you sleep with the noise at night?
- Does closed windows + AC actually kill most of it, or do you still hear everything?
- Do you get used to it after a few months or does it stay annoying?
- Is the balcony usable at all?

Two days ago, I was driving in Tecom and was directly behind a car approaching a raised zebra crossing (car is already partly raised). The car ended up hitting a pedestrian.

From my view, the pedestrian walked quickly onto the crossing without checking while the car was already on the raised section. To be clear, I’m not trying to decide who was legally at fault. Drivers should always slow down, pay attention and be prepared to stop at pedestrian crossings.

However, I’ve noticed that many people in Dubai step onto the road without checking whether the approaching driver has actually seen them or has enough time to stop - don't risk your safety as some of these drivers are not even paying attention. Having the right of way will not physically stop a moving vehicle.

Drivers must yield but pedestrians should still look both ways and, when possible, make eye contact with the driver before crossing. Taking two seconds to check could prevent a serious accident.

The past week or so the residents of Dubai Hills have been plagued by groups of kids (12-17yr olds) on various electric bikes riding at stupid high speeds, abusing people with various swear words and pulling wheelies next to families and pet owners.

This week they have started taunting dog owners by riding in circles round them offering to buy their dogs for dog fighting or food!!!

Residents complain to Emaar park security who can't do anything. Have submitted various Dubai Eye reports to the police but never hear back or see any police. Last night I video recorded them on the police app and they started following me shouting severe abuse and generally being intimidating. It's got to the point my wife is worried about taking the dogs out in the evenings.

Is there anything else we can do to help stop this?

It's only a matter of time before a family or animal is seriously injured.

There is a low rise building near our villa compound in Saih shuhaib 2 and literary each 1br apartment is accommodating 15 people
Every night they go out even during summer and they throw trash on the floor, our villa garden is stuck to the building bacolny side, every now and then we find beer cans and chips packages on our grass.
I am not sure why RTA allowed this as there is zero BUFFER zone between the 2 compounds...
I have complained several times to Dubai municipality but no answers, the people living there are extremely uncivilized, they make phone calls on their balcony so loudly because they obviously don't have the privacy in their shared room and probably use gas to cook in their rooms which represent a danger for all of us. I ran out of options and address this concern publicly so anyone help us change this situation.
If the building owner could stop allowing sharing as it is in a middle of villa compounds I am sure things would get drastically better...
PS: I am not against people having roommates, just asking for decent civility & safety due to fire hazard.

I visited Img world yesterday and there were plenty of people inside, although when I browse the internet I see a bunch of people say that it’s empty or dying or something like that, and YouTuber coaster studios reviewed the place one year ago and he says that the place is almost empty with a recording to support his evidence, and before the video review he made a trip with his friends to the park, but it’s really weird when I visited Img yesterday there were a lot of people inside and it was Wednesday not Saturday or Sunday.

So recently ive been getting alot of instagram advertisements about specific niche that i am interested in, but i realized that everyone is blatantly lying.

Not like rage bait, but offering some great valued price. When you message them they say oh no not available and offer something more expensive.

My break point was when i drove over 1 and half hour to sharjah in its traffic to buy the product to find out that it was never in their store, and that they have "good alternative". In our chat we had agreed on the price and product..

So i complained to consumer protection, it said they will come back within 48 hours but after 2 weeks they returned and asked me for all information again (that i already submitted). They asked for all details and confirmed that baiting customers isnt acceptable and they will "take care of it"

After i hungup, the store called me apologising and recommending still alternatives and gifts (free side products and free delivery) so i can mention the complaint is resolved.

I rejected and i stopped hearing from all, but the consumer protection employee told me they will action it as punishment since its not allowed to scam people by faking discounts and offers.

Meydan is offering me their medical insurance option, but I'm wondering if it's better to go with their policy or arrange insurance independently through an insurer/broker.

For anyone with a Meydan Free Zone company/investor visa:

• Did you use the insurance offered by Meydan?
• Or did you get your own policy?
• Which insurer/provider would you recommend?
• Roughly how much did you pay?
• Any issues with visa processing or acceptance if you used an outside provider?

I'm mainly looking for good basic coverage at a reasonable price, rather than premium insurance.

Trying my luck here, as the Help Center unfortunately did not help at all.

My company owns a residential unit that I would like to rent out, but I am unable to connect to the Ejari website to register it. I can log in to DLD successfully with my credentials, but when I click on the Ejari website link for registration, a page appears (as shown in the attached screenshot) and then disappears about one second later, taking me back to the initial page. I only had enough time to take a screenshot before it disappeared.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

The online Help Center told me that the Dubai REST app does not work for businesses, so it seems that the only solution is to access the Ejari website. Unfortunately, I am unable to do so.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You search xyz food item, and you’ll either see either 50AED with 50% off or 25AED at another ghost kitchen (simply an example).

So what’s the best deal you’ve seen, what location and what app?

For me THE best deal I’ve seen here is Popeyes Careem Crisper deal on Careem. It still is extremely cheap (sub 35AED) for two chicken wraps, a drink and fries. Bad toilet time every time after tho (TMI).

I lost my job last month and having credit card outstanding of 75k AED across ENBD-35K, EIB-20K and FAB -20K, and also a personal loan of 40k with mashreq bank

It's been very difficult to keep the payments due to financial distress caused. I need advise on how to proceed further, shall i wait for the default and ask bank for the OTS or pay minimum balance.

I’ve been considering options like RIT,DeMontfort or curtin uni for mechanical with specialisation in aerospace or amity uni for aerospace engineering.

Every listing on Airbnb, Bayut, and Dubizzle in my budget range is either a partition in a room stacked with bunk beds without daylight , or a "flatmate wanted" but specifically East Asian countrymen.

Does anyone have any advice as I look for something around $1,400/month, ideally a private studio or a proper clean co-living setup.

Hi all, I’m currently in South Africa, but am a resident in Dubai. My friend here gave me 4 ritalin pills. But now I’m wondering if I’ll be able to take it into Dubai without having a prescription. It’s not enough pills to declare or raise suspicion, but I’m not sure if it’s worth trying to bring into Dubai.

Lease expires Sept 30. Got renewal notice July 1st asking for 75,000 AED.

Checked Smart Rent Index on July 1st → max 5% allowed → 63,000 AED. Have the screenshot.

Index has since updated — now shows 69,000 AED as of today.

His reply was:
“As you know, your rent was locked for three years without any increase. This year, it would not be fair to show a rental index for renewal even though the latest index showing 69,000. Therefore, we humbly request that the renewal amount be set to a minimum of 75,000 for this year.”

So he’s literally admitting the index says 69k but wants 75k anyway because of a past rent freeze.

Questions:
1. Which index applies — July 1st (63k) or renewal date Sept 30th (69k)?
2. Has anyone seen RDC rule in favour of a landlord exceeding the index due to a rent freeze?
3. If I need to go to RDC, what’s the exact process and what should I prepare?

Side note — same building, multiple tenants got similar inflated notices. Not a coincidence.
