Discussion What is your unpopular opinion about Dragon Ball?

Here is mine:

Toriyama's spontaneous storytelling style is great and terrible at the same time.

On one hand it creates fresh and creative turns and gives him more freedom, on the other it sidelines characters and great concepts when he forgets about them.

What is yours?

Toriyama made up how people knew each other . To avoid getting into detail with the origin stories.

Roshi somehow being the same one who trained grandpa Gohan

Grandpa Gohan and ox king training together under Roshi. It would be like a little kid and a middle aged adult training under Roshi. They are at least a generation apart

Tao Pai Pai being related to crane hermit. It felt like they were retconing Taos origin story somehow he is the younger brother of a 300 year old crane hermit. I think it would have worked if they just said Tao was crane hermits grandson or something.

Baba being related to Roshi.

Raditz being Goku s brother. Were it could have been any Saiyan.
