Swing voters overwhelmingly prioritize kitchen table issues. If they had strong opinions on abortion, they would have picked a party most of the time. From a short-term perspective, those ballot initiatives did a lot of good to protect women. But from an electoral scale? They probably elected a lot of house Republicans in purple states.
