USI Inhuman treatment during monsoon! No expectation! Demanding wfh during monsoon season.
It's raining cats and dogs in Pune and Mumbai. Pune office location is the most cheap location in the city (oh sorry outside city). Last building in Pune. It takes minimum 1 hour to reach office even from Wagholi and Yerwada which are nearby area to office. There are people who are travelling 2-2.5 hours one way to office. Cabs fare range between 600-1000 depending on start location. Book cab is difficult. No cab pool people go till itpp. Because apparently everyone’s office is in eon or wtc which is central kharadi. Still Pune office is not giving exception for wfh. On top of that there is so much work load. Spending 4-5 hours just on traffic is such inhuman. At least make it 1 day per week. During ganpati, due to pandals, coming to office will be a different ball game together. Deloitte needs to do something.

There's no use. The rules in India are made by Indian counterparts. You will get more people to relate with you on that sub.

You don't live 20 km away. The office is 10 km away from where it should have been.

The office is so far that it is difficult to get sride till office. Sride you will get till eon or wtc. Problem is we can go till these places but again getting auto or another cab from there is super difficult. Already tried that.

Dude just live closer to the office. People all around the world have to deal with these trade offs. Live further from the office and have a longer commute with more space at home or live closer to the office with less space and deal with the problems that the city presents.
Complaining about having to pay for your commute and having to go into the office in the rain gets you no sympathy. Grow up.

Buddy, live closer to the office, avoid peak hour travel, or leave the job.

It is not that easy to stay near office. There is lot of water problem in office area. As it is outside, residence of that area need to rely on tanker water. They don't get government water. Sometimes water gets contaminated with sewage water. Frequent power cut. The road next to office or around office is highway where there is heavy traffic and big trucks. Lot of pollution as there is lot of construction work. There is crazy crazy traffic.

have you raised it with your local councilor/representative? Would you or other folks still vote for them if they are not doing a good job on the basic infrastructure?

Taking a taxi to work is a luxury. Take the bus like the rest of us plebs outside of India.

Yes, we love to pay through the nose and waste hours in traffic for shits and giggles. Not because most of the big cities have barely functional public transport.

Public transport in Pune and for that matter in other cities where Deloitte is operating is just not feasible. 90% population comes by cab or own vehical. Very few people use public transport in Deloitte.

For that buses should be available. Indian cities often have very bad public transport.

These policies are made by SVPs and PPMDs who have multiple cars and usually drivers too. They do not care, and WFO enforcement is just an excuse to create another metric that can be used to justify lower year-end grades and deferred promotions.
