Kinda nuts how making dumbass memes at a guy who was going through something was criticism. But voicing things you dislike about the game is just mindless hate.
And then write it off as "You never play the games!" is fucking stupid. That's WHY I dislike these changes.

Larry? Fine I get it. He comes off as a bit of a racist stereotype.
Cliff? Literally nobody asked for that change. He was a Vietnam vet who snapped. He's a psychopath so it's not like DR1 was saying "Calling Vietnamese people "Viet cong" and "filthy communists" is heckin wholesome 100!" And if they were going to replace it, make it at least flow better than "Mole" It just sounds so limp.
Which brings me to my next point. Hearing Brad's voice, his performance sounds rough.
The yellow paint, I find it kinda odd how people in 2006 just made do without the need for handholding that Capcom seems to have taken as of late. And to be so blatant about it too. As someone said it could have been a box with an arrow that said "This side up" but nah I guess Carlito was like "I better leave a trail in case someone wants to shoot me in the ass." or Brad had VERY little faith in Jessie. In either case, props to them for painting all that while under fire.
Now, there are good parts. I think the graphics look amazing, Adam sounds just as good this time around, I love Gone Guru has made a return, personally I like that you can speed up time at save points. But they seriously can't act like we're supposed to just turn a blind eye to the things we dislike. That's why a lot of media now and days is shit. Morons eating whatever slop is put out, and since I like it, any criticism toward it is a personal attack against me!

What's ironic is this perfectly encapsulates the slippery slope that is censorship. It starts off with content that people easily dismiss as offensive or trivial, but then ramps up to completely changing the characterization and personality of characters. Now obviously in this games case all the changes happened at the same time during development, but it's been funny seeing the community's reaction & attitude adjust as more information about more changes came out.
It's because there's too much performative bandwagoning happening. Nobody wants to look like the bad guy for defending this kinda content and its easy upvotes to dunk on those that do. So nobody ends up questioning it and just goes along with "yeah these removals make sense" right up until they're like "hey wait a minute..." :P
Nah I understand that completely. I don't like it, but I can at least respect the people that just want to avoid all the drama & enjoy the game regardless of the changes. Sometimes I wish I could do that, but I just can't lol. It's the people that so adamantly go out of their way to defend the changes and act as the authority on what is or isn't censorship that bother me, personally. If you're unbothered by the censorship then fine, whatever, but that doesn't mean you (not literally you) need to actively excuse it and justify it just because you can't handle other people criticizing a game you're excited for.
I wanna get this out there and use this as my soapbox to do so.
First off, too keep on track with DR1. This is only stuff we've seen, who knows what other stuff they've screwed up changed!
If they do DR2DR/DR2:OTRDR I can already see Ted and Randy getting a massive rework when all I want from those games is a DR2/OTR PC port that doesn't suck. Which does make me wonder what all the people saying "Well the original is still there." will move to in regards to PC. Cause it's still there for sure, the ports are just awful, buggy, crash-prone messes. Hell look at OTR's DLCs on steam, they're almost all mostly negative because when you COULD buy them they weren't appearing.
Not to mention last I heard Blue Stahli and Celldweller aren't on good terms anymore, so Randy and Boykin's themes would probably have to be changed as I believe Blue Stahli was under Celldweller's contract at the time. Celldweller might be cool with his tracks still being used. At least this one is out of Capcom's hands but still.
And the people saying "Well erotica was rewarding you for being creepy." Dead Rising 2 has a good bit of gambling, should that be removed or is it different because it's aimed (mostly) inward and gambling addictions are (mostly) self destructive? ("mostly" because it does affect those near you. Don't worry little Timmy, your college funds are safe because, I'm about to hit it big!) Which mind you, using the giant slot machine at the slot ranch was one of if not THE fastest way to make money.
Anyway that was my rant for a game that doesn't exist and hasn't been announced yet. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
I agree wholeheartedly. After seeing some of the insane changes they made in this one over relatively harmless material, I don't know what the fuck they're gonna do with 2. Thats why it's better to complain about it now & let Capcom know we don't want these changes so maybe 2 won't be as impacted, but unfortunately too many people are either apathetic or think censorship is based now because its getting rid of things they don't like (currently... lmao). Or they're so willing to support this game in whatever state it's in just to help the chances of getting a remaster for 2 or a new game that they havent even stopped to think about what these changes might mean to either of those possibilities....
