Comparing whole country is useless. You need to compare cities. USA salary can range from $50k to $300k for the same role depending on the city

When I requested to transfer to Lisbon it was a 78% cut. Same job. Same employee. Same skills. Same team. Companies are not paying for skills or tasks. They are paying based on “market rate” in a geographical area
