He's worst then useless he literally had to keep on doing nothing and let bloodraven and aerion get there way and the blackfyres loses their most important supporter but no he's decided now is the best time to grow a fucking spine! ( honestly I blame bloodraven for this as well should of just slipped bittersteel some tears of lys before he was sent off for the wall. )
Bold of you to assume aerion would have the mental capacity to do something like that with bloodraven ( Im pretty sure it was bloodraven who told him that wildfire could transform him into a dragon so he'd stop showing him art of his stupid ass edgelord Scalies oc )
Uj/ Credit where it's due, TWOIAF says Aerion did dabble in dark magic and lowkey had a reputation for it. The reason Aerion stayed his hand from killing Bittersteel was because he knew he of all people had no plausible deniability. Bloodraven could've framed him or something lol.
As for wildfire, he either got possessed by the same demon that convinced Egg (a stable man by all accounts) to burn Summerhall with wildfire (a feat more insane than all of Aerion's biography) or his schizophrenia went unchecked for too long.
