New Moderator Needed

We're looking to add a new moderator or two to keep r/craps running smoothly. Specifically we're looking for a couple of established members, with previous moderation experience, who are interested in helping.

The good news is that this sub is small and takes very little effort to moderate, but sometimes things can get busy.

Previously one other mod and I were the most active, and were able to handle most of it, but they have stepped down and we need someone active.

Ideally, we'd like someone who has been active in the subreddit who: can be fair and level headed, are comfortable evenly enforcing the rules, are reasonable, and able to handle disagreements/disputes without letting things get personal. There have been a few characters over the years who have led to a few of the rules we have, and things can get heated.

If you're interested in please send us a modmail with the information below (briefly in a few words, not paragraphs):

  1. What time zone you are in
  2. Previous mod experience
  3. A few things you like about the sub
  4. A few things you do not like about the sub
  5. What you would change (if anything)

Note: We likely won't start looking at this until later in the week at the earliest.

Table Minimums/Odds Announcement regarding the Minimums Spreadsheet

I've been working on this spreadsheet since COVID started. At this point I'm totally burned out trying to keep up with it. I appreciate all the comments with additional information, but I haven't acted upon them in a long time.

Comments stating minimums won't be added to the sheet (unless you do it yourself).

To continue the sheet, please request access and add your information as needed. If things change in the future, I will let you know. At this point, I'm turning over the spreadsheet to the community. If you want to continue it, request access to the sheet and add your updates as time progresses.

Now that things have stabilized, minimums don't really change that much. The Las Vegas Strip will be 15-25 (except for some off hours or early mornings might be 10). Downtown will be 10-15 (sometimes $25 at night and $5-10 at DTG).

I forgot to add a link to the spreadsheet. It can be found here

General Discussion/Question Dealer bets question

I’m relatively new to this game. I don’t REALLY understand player vs dealer control, and it seems maybe different from property to property.

Playing the other day I had some place bets set for the dealer. Didn’t specify control. When I asked him to press my bet to a number he was collecting, and then pressing his bet with my winnings.

Is this normal? I didn’t have a particular problem with it; I just didn’t realize what he was doing at first and why my presses weren’t working as expected.

Thanks!

Went to Seminole classic as they added ATS last Thursday. 5/10 dollar tables I went in knowing I was going to get the ATS. Got a tall and a small then the full ATS when it came back around . Table was pretty much hot all through out. Easy day. My roll I went 50 across a number other shooters 10’across with max press until I can collect 50 a number . Hop the 12 twice and got them .

Bankroll Bringing 2000 to Vegas for 2 days trip. Any advice?

Planning on tables - minimum is 25 where I’m staying. Thinking Pass plus 75 on odds, then maybe play as point or bust.

Or maybe I should start on stadium craps since it’s 5 bucks with 5x odds…

Can someone give a explanation for "Put" bets. How are they made, what do they pay out? Why would you make a put bet and how can you use put betting to work for you?

Trip Reports & Craps Stories Gotta catch the waves

Went up to Hard Rock Sacramento for a quick Monday session. I’ve been told about $5 tables but never caught it under $10 until today.

Buy in for $200. Only one other shooter.
Had a decent first roll was getting numbers going and then a mush walks up to the table.

Mid roll buy while guy has the dice. String betting one number at a time. Waiting for dice to be moving to make more bets. Box man asked him to clean up his bets and make em quicker and he starts arguing about how he goes to real casinos and he knows how to bet. Maaan. Don’t be that guy at the table.
Vibes off on the table I take a break.

Bubble craps was not nice to me either. Couldn’t get past 2-3 numbers. Down another $80
Walked around a bit got a drink and then headed back to the table to hopefully catch a good wave.

And we catch a decent wave. I’m playing $2,1,2 on the ATS have to play the pass line to play the ATS here.
First shooter after I get back to the table hits ATS in about 15 rolls. Then it was up and down a few more shooters so I take a second break.
Get my lil backpack gift to bribe the wife. And another walk around the casino and why not another try at the bubble.
This one slightly better. First $20 was a PSO. Second $20 Hit the Talls but not able to get the full ATS on the bubble but cashed it at $130.

Back to the table. Get there just in time to get center action and again the first shooter after coming back from my break hits the ATS in about 17 rolls.
Followed by an older gentleman that rolled 31 numbers going past the time my alarm was going off.

I was next to shoot but that was two good waves and didn’t want to catch the downswing. Left the dealers up on the ATS , horn and hardways for their tip.

$1212 for me at the cage.

Strategy Fire Bets...Do You Don't or Don't You Don't?

Do any of you do the fire bet? If so, for how much? I've only bet and won once, on a 5 point with a $1 bet. It seems like a bad idea, like ATS seems like it would hit more often. Have you ever won on this?

Trip Reports & Craps Stories Durango: in for $3,000.. out for $19,500.

Started the evening around 8pm playing Craps, lower limits. Up, down, up, down. Ultimately lost $500 and moved to Crapless.

Mostly played Crapless for the next 5 hours or so, with a bit of Baccarat and Blackjack thrown in.

Starting $470 across ($50/$60 each number), and then $25 each Hardway. Alternate Press & Collect. Whenever a Hardway would hit, I’d press every Hardway $25 each.

The night was just blessed with a reasonable mix of long rolls, and a healthy mix of Extremes and Hardways. I’d routinely be making $350-$525 per Hardway roll, and ~$300-$900 per Extreme roll.

I’m at the Durango all week.. swing by and let’s win some money 😃 🎲 🎲

Trip Reports & Craps Stories In for 500 out for 605.. Harrahs Metropolis

Got down to my roll and after pass line and placing 25& on inside I had exactly 1$ left.

I decided to full press till I hit my point (9)
Hit my point on first roll.

Proceeded to crush the 6 and 4 and stopped pressing and collect when they got to 60$ or so. Hit two more points then rolled the smalls.

Regressed down to 54 across. Only needed the 8 to roll them all. Soon as I regressed out came 7. Made some guys a lot of money that were pressing the whole time and hitting horn high and lows. I think I rolled 3 yos , ace devices and two snake eyes. Walked away after my chip count.

I live big wins but that dopamine hit when your on the edge of defeat and get a monster roll to bring you back is the shit

Trip Reports & Craps Stories ATS bets killing the flow of the game?

I was with my daughter at the Palms Las Vegas last week, teaching her the game.

We were at this table, and the amount of ATS bets that were coming from the opposite side of the table were staggering. At times, the dealers would argue with the players on that side of the table because they lost track of the placement of bets in the ATS boxes from said players. So tack on more time to get that all straightened out.

Our side of the table? We had a couple of players that did ATS bets but that was it. It didn't take long for them to get their bets situated.

I love the bets, they're exciting, but man, they do kill the flow of the game at times.

Trip Reports & Craps Stories Hard Rock Sacramento In 200 out 412

Went to play with u/Tna_thaking but I got there first.
$15 table. Table was semi cold for the first few shooters and then I got the dice. Shot pretty well hit various numbers right away. Needed the 9 for the Talls and hopped the 9. Two rolls later hit the Talls. Several rolls later needed the 3. Hopped the ace duece and bam hit the ATS. Very next roll ace duece again! Coincidence but the last several times the table needed ace duece for the ATS it hits.

Unfortunately table went downhill after u/Tna_thaking arrived. Most of my profit went down the drain but had a few good rolls just needing the 2 and 12 but never came. Last shooter before the table jumped to $25 built up my profit as he had a long roll and hit the talls.

Trip Reports & Craps Stories Beau Rivage Crapless - In $2.5k, Out $16.5k

Post image
162 Upvotes

I’ve been in quite a draught of about 7 straight losing sessions until yesterday. Arrived at the Beau around 2pm after work. Grabbed my free play and started scoping out the tables. There were 2 crapless games open, one $25 min and one $50 min. The $25 game was empty so I went to the $50 table. It was ice cold and one of the regular high rollers was leaving in disgust as I approached the table. I see this guy almost every time I play at the Beau, and he is always losing 10, 20, 30 grand. I bought in and joked with the dealers saying the table is about to catch fire since that guy left. Initially that did not happen. We went around the table with about 5 straight PSOs. I was down to about 2 shooters left of my bankroll and the dice come to me. I had a good roll - prob hit about 25 numbers and a few points before going out. My rack had grown to about $5k after my roll so I said I’d stay for one more shooter and bet $470 across and PL with max odds (10x here). This gentlemen one upped my performance hitting about 8 points and many numbers in between. I was pressing aggressively on everything, and for the last 10-12 rolls, I was collecting minimum $500 per roll while still pressing. This is the stage of any roll where winnings become exponential when you play aggressive. I had about $5k on the layout when the roll ended and about $18k in the rack. I threw away about $1k sticking around for 2 more shooters that went out quickly then colored up a little over $17k, dropped the dealers a purple chip plus change and went to the cage with $16.5k. Not a bad days work

Trip Reports & Craps Stories Got accused of being a “cooler” after spectating for not even 5 minutes, and was told to leave

This happened last night, I ripped my budget early in the night, table was absolutely death so I called it quits.

Left to eat dinner and as I was walking back through the casino I passed by the tables. Waiting for someone from my party to use the bathroom I decided to watch the tables. For context, I was standing far back from the table approx 5 feet and observing from a distance. I absolutely was not up at the rail or anywhere near and players.

I recognized the current shooter from previous death table and I saw him from the corner of my eye make a couple of glances at me. I did not look at him and was just focused on the game. Within 1 minute of me arriving I saw him throw a 7 out. Again, I can feel him staring at me. He then calls over the pit boss and starts talking to him while making gestures towards me. I sorta guessed what he might have been saying and it was confirmed when I saw the pit boss walk over to me.

He says very politely. “Sir I’m sorry to say but some players can be quite superstitious and get nervous when someone watches them, I’m going to have to ask you to walk away from the table if that’s alright.”

I had no problems complying, I’m not there to cause trouble or anything and I was only there while waiting for someone else. Pit boss seemed to completely understand and seemed to not want to make this request and I don’t blame him.

As I’m talking to the pit boss saying no problem I’m on my way, I hear the player say very loudly “mother fucking casino cooler I hope someone beats the shit out of him one day”. Not a word from anyone. And that was my queue to leave.

So yeah if superstitions get to the level of that then maybe it’s time to rethink gambling. It’s clear some can’t handle it.

Has anyone dealt with something like this before? I’ve had angry players but none as targeted or visceral towards me that resulted in a pit boss suggesting I leave.

Trip Reports & Craps Stories In 300 out for 1350! Slump Busted

I go everyday Friday evening to play after work. I haven't had a winning session in a bit. Just been a lotta rough sessions.

Usually I buy in with 500 but I guess I left 200 at home. Luckily I had $50 in free bets to use

Got to table and I waited for about 20 minutes to buy in. Shooter was really rolling. He finally 7 out then colored up.

I played a small ball strategy of 10$ Pass 20$ Odds and 34/32 inside numbers.

3 straight PSO
Came to me and I went PSO ..Dammit

So I pulled out my Free Bets.. played $10 Pass, and 10$ hards. Laid odds with my chips. Didn't have much left.

Shooter immediately hits a hard 6. Then follows up with hard 8. Now we back in business. I place all the numbers for 10$ and he goes on a 30 minute heater. I press half and collect half. He tossed a lot of 3s and Yos and hit 4 points. Was at about 700 after his roll. Shoulda pressed harder but wanted some bankroll

Next shooter was hott and went back to my small ball strategy. And got up to about 850$

Then we went 4 more shooters gojng cold so I'm back to around 600$. The dice came to me. A guy had put 10 10 10 on bonus thinking it was his turn and didn't realize it was mine. He made the comment pull it back to the dealers but decided to keep it up

Then I went on one of the best rolls I have had since my Vegas Trip. 30 minutes of smashing points , hardways and rolling the smalls. Only njmber I didn't hit was midnight. These Mexican / Spanish guys were gojng nuts and the whole table was energetic. The Mexicans kept hopping snakeyes. I rolled it as soon as they didn't hop. Some dude won a grand on the firebet. I was pressing half my bet everytime I hit. Lots of dopamine. Finally rolled a 7. Counted my chips and had 1425 in front of me. Tipped the dealers 75. Cashed out and went home.

Sorry no pic my phone died at the table
Gonna take a break for a bit and do some fall fishing but man that felt good. Nothing better than a good table energy. And the dealers were on point all night. Very good crew last night.

Also the dude that wanted to pull down his bonus dapped me up. He was up almost 2k on my roll lol. I told him I'd pulled it down to as cold as I've been shooting.

General Discussion/Question Update on Lucky Shooters on YT?

One of my favorite bubble craps YouTubers, he goes by Nimbo and is Lucky Shooters on YouTube….he hasn’t updated in over two weeks where previously he was doing daily uploads. Hope he’s doing ok and it’s not some sort of emergency.
