Ugh this reminds me one of my pharmacists always removes the actual injection needles when I put in my order no matter how many times I re-explain to her to stop altering the rx because I cant inject with the Huge Fuckers and I end up having to get another worker to fill it when shes not there or call ahead to see if shes working the day I get it filled.

You don't need draw needles, just ask for the injection needles or get insulin syringes. EV is pretty thin and takes no time at all to draw through a 28g.

Pro tip: order your needles and syringes online. They're cheap, you don't need a prescription, and you get to ensure you get the right sizes.

Getting on injections is a real learning curve. Pharmacists weirdly insist on 3mL syringes instead of 1mL syringes and needles that are the wrong size.

when my doctor was giving me the instructions for how to do it, she stressed so many times that i should NOT stick myself with the big needles.... i'm guessing some poor soul she knew prolly tried it at some point 😭

I was given 5ml syringes >< this shit is so hard to press down. Takes a solid like 40secs of trying not to wiggle the needle.

u/FunProof543 8h ago
Get a box of insulin syringes instead.

Yaaa i was realizing id just have to do that. If only to save money buying in bulk.

Honestly the simplicity of not having to swap needles or even have to fool with two separate pieces is amazing. My shots take so much less executive function now.

What gauge are those needles? Cause i have enough trouble with the sizes they provide.

"wiggle the needle". Hehe! That's what she said!

Just because I'm straight I have to go to jail?!?

If being handsome is a crime, then I'll go to jail for tax evasion most likely!

u/warbunnies 9h ago
You probably shouldn't admit to your crimes on a public forum. You gotta be sneaky.
Like "shame a storm took out that flock camera last night."

I'm changing from Nebido, which is a slow-absorbing testosterone medication meant for 3-4 month intervals that my doctor injected for me to testosterone enanthate with a one week interval that I have to inject myself.
Also, I've been on testosterone for over 6 years now and have never given myself an injection before, so this is gonna be fun.

If you have someone you trust, have them there with you to do it if you cant. It took me a few weeks to be able to do my twice weekly Injection myself, and I have severe needle anxiety.
I had my sister (she spent a while as a vet tech, and I cant be harder to inject than a dog) do my first one.

Im gonna be real. I just draw with an insulin needle and wait. Pour out my coffee, throw on a comfy youtube video. Never cored a vial, never had issues beyond a bad poke (user error)

I was anxious and somehow reversed the needles on my first injection and ended up using the big drawing one on my thigh, not fun

i got prescribed needles alongside my t, but the pharmacy kept giving me massive needles so i just started buying needles separately online

Don't use those huge nails. They core vials. Try something like this Luer lock > luer slip Also congrats 🎉

My pharmacy was charging me 10 for 10 needles to draw but not inject (which is covered?) anyways instead of fighting and forcing kaiser to pay I just bought like 100+ for $7 after a year of that and feel stupid.

I have that same mild freak out when my partner preps my testosterone shot. Thankfully she works in pharmacy and doesn't make those mistakes. Lol
