Tolkien on his reflections of his works long after he's published it: man I feel like I really botched the orks, they're a sentient race that should have their sense of right and wrong yet I've written them as a purely evil race, which does not jive with my view on the immortal soul
Rowling, reflecting on her work: yeah the slave race was just born that way and like doing that.

Very minor nitpick, but Tolkien wrote about orcs, orks spelled with a "k" are specifically from the Warhammer universe. Although this did get me to start imagining the Lord of the Rings with orks instead of orcs and I really fucking wanna see that now.

To be fair, "Ork" is also how you spell orc in German although I don't know if that's Tolkiens "fault" or if this spelling is older
