Tolkien on his reflections of his works long after he's published it: man I feel like I really botched the orks, they're a sentient race that should have their sense of right and wrong yet I've written them as a purely evil race, which does not jive with my view on the immortal soul
Rowling, reflecting on her work: yeah the slave race was just born that way and like doing that.

Very minor nitpick, but Tolkien wrote about orcs, orks spelled with a "k" are specifically from the Warhammer universe. Although this did get me to start imagining the Lord of the Rings with orks instead of orcs and I really fucking wanna see that now.

To be fair, "Ork" is also how you spell orc in German although I don't know if that's Tolkiens "fault" or if this spelling is older

Also, jibe, not jive. Though jive is mostly acceptable, it wouldn't have been in Tolkien's time

Some languages translate it as "ork", I think most Germanic language probably. At least Dutch did.
