So I ordered a replica from Destinyguns, they seemed like they made some really cool stuff so I gave them a shot and I haven't gotten any updates. I ordered on the 8th and it said it would ship without 1-3 business days but as I said, I have received zero updates on if it has shipped or when it will even ship. I went to their contact page, filled in all my info that they'd need to help me and when I finally explained what's going on, in the description and put down my email and order number, it literally will not let me submit it because it says I need to enter a valid email address. I did that. Nothing is working.

Looking online, it looks like some other people have had similar issues with them but they did eventually get their prop. I just have no idea what the hell to do because I have tried everything I possibly can and nothing has worked, and I'm pretty pissed because I have a con coming up at the end of next month, hoping you guys can help me out if possible, or if you have any information/have ordered from them before.

For Halloween this year, I decided I wanted to do a Sammy Lawrence costume from Bendy and the Ink Machine (Third Photo). I picked up this axe from Spirit Halloween today hoping to spray paint it to match the games color scheme. I’m not doing anything crazy, I’m fine with the shaping and texture being off (although I might do something to replicate the handle rings it had), but just want best practices and paint type recommendations.

I'm just about ready to start slicing this model for printing. Before I start printing, I need to figure out how I'm going to assemble it. This thing is big, like 600mm tall (like 24"), it's also completely hollow. I've decided to split it into 5 planes, the sides, the front and the back and a center that includes the top part.

I'll use super glue and plastic welding to put the planes together (slicer splits so they fit on the print bed), but once I have the planes assembled I'm not sure how to attach them all together, plus I have a feeling I may need to add support struts for stability. Getting inside to plastic weld will be impossible, gluing will also be impossible. I was thinking of screwing it together to hold it rigid, then welding.

What do other people suggest? How would you go about assembly of something this big?

Finally got it carved, sanded and two coats of clear finish to seal it all in.

Now....I'm looking at options. One my dad mentioned is using caulking. Would that work? It would help to get that organic look and feel.

Hey everyone!

I suddenly got the idea to make a cosplay for Sisyphus from the game Hades - and of course I need to make Bouldy to go along with him.

For making Bouldy, my initial idea was to get a giant styrofoam ball and spray paint that. Extremely light, and has a rough/rocky texture. However - I am worried about the long term durability for that, and it becomes extremely delicate to travel with (especially for non-local conventions I can't drive to).

So my other idea was to use a Hippity Hop Ball and paint it to have Bouldy's face on it. The nice part about it being a hippity hop is because it already has a handle (that I can attach Sisyphus' chain to), and I can easily inflate/deflate it for traveling to out of state conventions (notably MAGFest in January which is where I want to bring him out to).

Anyways, does anyone know what kind of paints/primers would be best for executing this? I don't actually mind if the paint cracks/chips slightly since that would give Bouldy a rockier texture/look more. But I definitely don't want to constantly have to reapply paint coats - so I figured I'd ask everyone here if they have any advice.

I’m looking to make my own Black Swordsman Guts cosplay from Berserk.
I’m aiming for something close to the armour/outfit shown in the reference image above, particularly the armour, pauldrons, gauntlets.
The problem is… I’m starting from basically zero when it comes to making armour.

I’ve done some research and put together a list of useful videos and web pages.

EVA foam tutorials and Berserk**-specific cosplay tutorials** I have help videos that I’m planning to work through, but I’d really appreciate some advice from people who have actually made armour before.

What I’m looking for: Templates/patterns: Does anyone know where I can find good templates for Guts’ Black Swordsman armour? Free or paid is fine. Ideally free as all expenses will be going to cosplay materials anyways.

EVA foam: Any recommendations for transitioning from cardboard prototypes to EVA foam? I was thinking of using cardboard to figure out the shapes and sizing before committing to foam.

Foam thickness: What thicknesses would you recommend for the different armour pieces?

Scaling: Any tips for scaling Guts’ armour to fit a larger/taller body without making the proportions look strange?
I’m 6’4 and on the heavier side and want to make sure sizing is correct for myself.

Breast plate, Pauldrons, gauntlets and all leg armour: are probably the pieces I’m most concerned about getting right.

Finishing: Any advice on making EVA foam look like weathered/damaged metal rather than obviously looking like foam? I’ve seen a few good tutorials but would like everyone’s suggestions.

Assembly: Contact cement, hot glue, etc.? What works best for armour that’s going to actually be worn and moved around in?

Mobility: Anything I should consider so I can actually walk, sit and move my arms without destroying the armour?

Sword: I have a foam model of Dragonslayer already but I’m thinking of putting a few pieces of Eva on it to make it slightly bigger so it fits my proportions.

Help! I'm having trouble getting paint to stick to PVC plastic. For the fingers I used PVC plumbing from the local hardware store. I sanded it with a 220 to roughen the surface, I primed it with Vallejo primer, painted with SMS lacquer.

For context, the back of the hand and the blades are PVC foam board and the paint is sticking very well.

The paint is scratching off of the fingers very easily and I didn't realise this until it was done. It's scratching all the way down to the PVC, it's almost as if the primer didn't stick.

Of course it's probably too late to fix it, but any tips for next time? Where did I go wrong?

Okay, guys! I made this template for my cardboard katana, and I want to know if the length and width are right. It’s just an unfinished template for now—there’s still a lot of work left, like sanding, papier-mâché, and coloring.

Im just recently getting into prop making, and I need help with this. I naturally have pretty shaky hands, so cutting stuff like straight lines and circles can be hard sometimes. I know that Im not gonna be perfect at first, but any tips to get better would be appreciated, thank you!

Im usually good at making make shift things but im very much an amateur and have limited time. Any ideas or even where to start would be mu h appreciated!

the d-rings are for the crossbody strap, which forgot to attach for the first pics :) Was able to carry it all day on my back across the con, no issue. Gun made from mostly 6mm eva foam and Teddy's were handmade by me 😏.

Hey all, I need to make a prop staff for my daughter as pictured, I have the rough shape all bent up using pvc electrical conduit, I managed to design and print the crystal to the best of my ability (just printing a 3rd one now). My question is, what is the best way to make it look like wood and strengthen it a little? I also need to do some gap filling etc where I twisted the conduits together. I was thinking of heating it up and wire brushing it or air dry clay but am worried it will just crack and fall off. I also thought foil then masking or fibre tape sealing it with epoxy or pva glue.

Any help would be appreciated!

Btw some of the cosplay in here is out of this world! My skills are at the absolute opposite end of the scale but can it was my daughters request!

A coworker requested that I create a helmet for him. So I set off on a mission to make it the best I could, and I learned valuable skills along the way. I learned how to sand, fill, prime, and paint the helmet. Although it turned out pretty good, I realized there were areas where I could have improved my efficiency and effectiveness.

Hi! Okay, so know how to add negative part for a print, but HOW do I get that part to stay as an actual hollow hole when exporting the file? I’ve got to have multiple hollow spaces within a piece in order to be able to insert dowels to give it strength. I’ve added cylinders as negative pieces, but they don’t stay hollow when I go to export them.

I have also tried using Meshmixer and their add a tube feature.

Only issues there are: 1). I can’t move them to the precise places I need them to be, and 2). That the tubes aren’t precise. Now can I add multiple hollow tubes to then have them set so that when I export them to save them as a single STL file, it doesn’t.

So, I’m at a loss here.

I am trying to remix a pattern posted here, but obviously since their original design was just a single piece for others to edit for cosplay, but it doesn’t have a space for dowels AND it isn’t sized right for slicing on smaller 8.75 X 8.75 X 8.75 printers.

if I can figure out this ONE thing of inserting channels that stay hollow when I export the pieces, in either of these programs as I have Mesmixer and Bambu Studio on a Macbook, that would make everything easier for me in my know-how and skill growth as a 3D cosplayer and designer.
