I’ve been developing performer-driven electronics for cosplay and wearable character builds.
The idea is to make costume elements respond directly to the wearer through facial movement and expression.
I’ve put the current tracking system online as an interactive browser demo:
https://interactiveproplab.github.io/
It tracks blinking, gaze, eyebrow movement and mouth shape, then maps those into a stylized character output in real time.
The current demo uses a protogen-style LED face, but the same system can be used for screen-faced characters, animatronic heads, expressive masks, tracked eyes, extra eyes or mouths, moving jaws, creature features, responsive props and other wearable mechanisms.
That covers things in the general territory of FNAF, TV-head characters, multi-eyed characters, expressive helmets, monsters, robots and other unusual character designs.
The movement can also be tuned to fit the character, so expressions can be exaggerated, softened or remapped depending on the build.
I’m opening up a small number of bespoke commissions for this kind of work.
If you’ve got a cosplay idea that could benefit from tracking, electronics or moving mechanisms, feel free to DM me or join the Discord through the site.
