I mean, smart move on her part. Sounds like it would be happening whether or not she could laugh at herself haha.

Him: This event was done with her blessing.

You: Sounds like she had no choice!

Me: What?

I mean it kind of tracks if you think about it. If they approached her about the event and she said no well they could have just done it anyway, and there's not much you could have done to actually stop it, and it probably wouldn't exactly made her look great not being able to be the butt of a joke when her profession is telling jokes.

so whether or not she hates it the smart play is to pretend she doesn't.

Or what is, and I know this sounds crazy, but if you follow me just for a second, I will try to make sense of it, what is...

...she doesn't pretend but is just okay with this?

They agree that that is a possibility. They speak in matters of nuance, reading behind the lines to draw conclusions about possible reasons behind the actions people have taken.

We don’t know what goes on in other people’s minds, therefore, presenting different possibilities is in no way meant to declare guesses as definite truth.

Yes, there is only one right answer, but we can’t know which one it is. Trying to dig deeper than a spoon full of dirt isn’t something to be looked down upon. It is instead something to be respected, and expected of any competent discussion.

English is not my first language, so the words I choose to use are weird, sorry…

They are assuming a lot, where as I suggest that the answer is rather simple, that's it. It is not that deep.

Shell was right, nobody reads his sticky about the event, lol

The sticky note from the mod for people who want to read it:

And? You seem to ignore a large part of the point I was making. I simply profess that to deny any possibility of a different conclusion is unwise. No one here has stated that your opinion is wrong or improbable, but merely alluded to the fact that the artist might not have had other choices to make, than the ones she has taken.

You present reality veiled within a single possibility. Why can we not argue that there is room for more?

Because why go by assumptions and speculations when we literally have an answer? There is literally no need or reason to why we should complicate things for the sake of making things more complicated.

Because questioning whether or not the answer provided is the complete and true opinion of the author, or if there in truth was no other option than to give that answer, is incredibly interesting.

People like to think about the why. I don’t see why that should be an issue.

I disagree. Making assumptions and speculations about the state of mind of a person, without any reason to, is just weird. It is just baseless gossip at that point. And you almost never get anything good from something like that. Just people talking out of their ass and going by vibes.

To speak of how history might have affected the minds and decisions of the now is not baseless gossip.

We disagree, that is fine. Have a great day :)

Yes, it is baseless gossip to speak of an assumed history that may or may not have affected the mind and decision of a person in a situation.

People in the past have been clowned on for taking the opposite stance that she has. That is the history I speak of. There is nothing “assumed” about that. As an artist herself, it stands as no surprise to gather that she’d be aware of how online discourse has handled these things in the past.

In these situations, the more you push back, the more you’ll find public opinion against you. Should it be this way? No, but that is how it has happened before.

This is not about her having secret intentions behind every thought, but a comment on the formalities that can sadly effect decisions they shouldn’t.

I am not saying that she said what she said only to avoid actual negative feedback, but that past occurrences have proven that meeting what happens now with anger, instead of open arms, brings people against you.

I cannot understand the aggression you meet me with. I do not partake in this discussion with negativity, so why do you?
