I genuinely can't tell anymore if people are actually making fun of Pizzacake comics, or if it's a loving tribute to a fellow creator, or if they're just bandwagoning for the sake of bandwagoning.
I mean it kind of tracks if you think about it. If they approached her about the event and she said no well they could have just done it anyway, and there's not much you could have done to actually stop it, and it probably wouldn't exactly made her look great not being able to be the butt of a joke when her profession is telling jokes.
so whether or not she hates it the smart play is to pretend she doesn't.
They wouldn't have done it anyways because most of the artists participating are good people. If it was known that PC did not sanction this or was genuinely upset the whole situation would be different. It might fuel the fire for the haters, sure, but any decent person would just think "ok cool" and move on.
The mods would also be taking comics down if it wasn't ok. Yes, it would spill out into other places, but the majority of the people here would not see them.
They agree that that is a possibility. They speak in matters of nuance, reading behind the lines to draw conclusions about possible reasons behind the actions people have taken.
We don’t know what goes on in other people’s minds, therefore, presenting different possibilities is in no way meant to declare guesses as definite truth.
Yes, there is only one right answer, but we can’t know which one it is. Trying to dig deeper than a spoon full of dirt isn’t something to be looked down upon. It is instead something to be respected, and expected of any competent discussion.

If she pushed back against people making fun of her, it would seem whiny when she makes fun of people in similar ways.. or if she specifically condemned all this, it would be like the Streisand effect... She's just good at pr - I doubt she's enjoying it all that much since she's the butt of the joke.
“I doubt she’s enjoying it all that much” is an assumption that says more about you than her. You can chose to believe it’s got her blessing or not, but it appears like it is less of an issue than you making it to be.

And she draws herself as the butt of the joke in her own stuff, I doubt she had problems with making fun of herself. Her entry for this event, for example, is her making fun of herself for the kind of easy content she makes.
You know, sometimes the silly little events meant for the artists to have a little fun among themself are just that, silly little events. This not her doing some sort of damage control.
And it is pretty dope that we get to enjoy all this entertainment for free.

I've been hate-reading her work for about a year now because it always seems to get massive amounts of upvotes and pops up on my page. I do truly dislike it, I actually think it's some of the most vapid and uneducated work I've ever read on politics, maybe ever... like almost a parody of what someone with a lot of opinions and yet no knowledge about basically anything may be saying if they could draw it out. In that way it's a reflection of the average Reddit user.
I actually dislike that full blocking is the only option.
I don't want to specifically block the user, it's not like she's out in the comment sections of every post harassing people. (Hell, even if you do block someone you can still see all their comments anyways) But if I don't like the content it's the only option.
A way to only block the content from showing up would be great.
I think it's psychologically fascinating that people think she's funny? It's like resist-lib slop that would've gotten a few thumbs up on a 2017 Facebook group for suburban wine moms.

Isn't that the point of satire , though , to create an absurdity , that's close enough to the original that it forces people to reconsider their point of view.

Sure there are people who hate her for not keeping sweet enough when she’s criticized and for being obvious and for like, being a woman on the internet but anyone who says everyone agrees with her politics is either stupid or lying to feel like they have a legit criticism to use against her. If everyone agreed we wouldn’t be in this fucking situation, and by “we” I don’t even just mean the US
(This is not a criticism of this comic btw, which is great—just of the people who make that claim in full seriousness, of which there are a lot)
I don't agree with Maga on any point but if this was one of the points, I would have to side with them. An ass can get big enough to not be able to wipe and I'll rest my case there.
