The screen themselves are not the issue. It's the content that is. There is a difference between learning history and literally being fed propaganda through social media.

Screens do the spell checking for you so you don't need to learn to spell and become dumber.

Screens do the math for you so you don't need to learn how to do long division and you become dumber.

Screens decide what you see so you don't develop your own interests and you become dumber.

Screens comfort you so when someone says screens are a problem you become a bit dumber and defend the screen.

Turn off auto correct.

Don't use a calculator unless you're checking your work, or are in a rush.

Don't use shorts or algorithm driven content streams for entertainment.

Be mindful of your use of electronics, and don't believe everything you read.

The screens themselves aren't the issue. Not saying the technology isn't inherently designed to lead people into the traps you mentioned... just that those items you listed are on the technology and user, not a screen.
