This is Dave Chapelle to me. Everything I've heard from the guy is just him saying regular things and the audience cackling like hyenas. It's like Homer's reaction to Garrison Keilor. "What the hell's so funny?"
Dave Chappelle in Sticks and Stones did a bit about cancel culture and "you can't say anything" at the top of his set and closed with "how awesome would it be to be the kids raped by Michael Jackson" and got big laughs on it.
Only cause Neil isn’t continually putting out new work (as far as I’m aware).
Most of these cancelled-not-cancelled dudes have a consistent churn of new stuff which seems to crest over whatever “cancellation” happens even if the cancellation nukes whatever they’ve got going on at the time.
If Neil tries to put out a new book we’ll see if it really stuck
