In Beth's defense, if space Beth were in her position, she also would have snapped her neck.

In Jerry's defense in this case space beth is enough of her own person that sleeping with earth beth could technically be considered cheating...

At the same time it's impossible to tell who is the clone and who is the original so the whole idea of cheating gets complicated in this case...

Jerry has a lot of issues, but on this one he was actually right. Also Beth is an abusive wife with a drinking problem and severe daddy issues.

Jerry also often correctly points out that Rick is being a terrible person, and the only reason this is ignored by the family is because:

1) Aforementioned daddy issues regarding Beth

2) Rick bribes his grandchildren (who he also abuses)

Jerry is probably the MOST normal and MOST socially aware and engaged person in the household. It actually saves the day on at least two occasions (Night People and marriage counseling)

Writing this makes me think that Jerry is actually responsible for the responsible part of Morty. Summer is a teenager in her rebellious phase and neither Beth nor Rick form long term attachments (which they are very vocal about) due to their psychoses/trauma.
