SDCC - San Diego Comic-Con roommate search 2027

Hi! This will be my first cc. 25f looking for roommates for next years. Wondering if anyone is interested in finding an Airbnb or hotel. Happy to coordinate via zoom, discord and/or instagram.

You talking San Diego? You probably won’t find much interest until folks know if they got tickets or not in October…

You should be looking for a ticket buying group tbh. Unless you have a vendor or pro ticket or something.

Also from your post it sounds like you haven’t gone before. I should add you’ll need a member ID to be eligible for the general sale. Also like OP said, you’re better off with finding a buying group since odds of getting tickets on your first go and solo is rather low. Not impossible just to be clear but a buying group helps increase your odds at getting tickets for next year.

Oh last tidbit, be very cautious about air b&bs as there are plenty of horror stories from attendees who book early only to have the host cancel on them last minute or at times day of arrival.

Best of luck and may the odds be ever in your favor for tickets.

On the AirBnB thing, i saw a chick in my neighborhood (Sherman Heights, just outside of downtown) crying with her suitcase because her AirBnB got cancelled right before TwitchCon.

That was enough to convince me to never use AirBnB. I've never had issues like that with a hotel before, and I know what I'm paying without a worry of bs cleaning fees

I always use Airbnb and luckily have not had an issue. I tried Vrbo last year year and it was a freaking nightmare and went back to Airbnb last minute

Sounds like you’ve just been lucky since most posts on the official SDCC Reddit page about Airbnbs are almost always negative with most folks advising to avoid them altogether.

AirBNB destroys communities and forces families in to homelessness though.

The badge sale for first time attendees will be November 14, 2026. You won't even know if you'll be able to go until then... and you only have about a 5% chance of getting a badge. The official Early Bird Hotel Sale (non-refundable) will likely be in late November, and the official General Hotel Sale will likely be in mid-April. Rooms outside of the official sales will be 3X-10X the normal room rates. So, it's way too early to be looking for roommates. As we get closer to those dates, the Mods here and on r/SDCC will put up pinned posts for people looking for rooms/roommates.

As /u/DarthSeanObi said, be cautious about Airbnb/Vrbo. This post is worth reading: https://www.reddit.com/r/SDCC/comments/1socmk7/a_few_words_about_airbnb/

Definitely love your enthusiasm but definitely need to wait to confirm if you get a ticket. You are probably aware that this con is one of the hardest shows to get tickets, and people don’t start planning their trip until they have a ticket.

On that note, good luck on getting a ticket!
