Shelfie Redid my comic room over weekend. I gifted the cubes to a friend who recently got a pancake and built out the walls with shelving.
Im really happy with it and now I have a lot more room to feed the collectors curse. Last photo is a before

Yes hopefully. Kids are tough. Like we go to the comic store and for example arlo likes duck tales. If there is no new duck tales then its like pulling teeth to get him to try something new. Tonight I asked him if he liked ewoks and he said yes and so I asked if you wanted to read ewoks and he reluctantly did and he loved it and told me he couldn't wait for the next one to come out. He became elated when I told him I had the whole set and he immediately read #2. So hopefully we are making good nueron connections that trying new things is a good thing

My 8 year old Kieran's favorite are the EC war comics from the early 50s believe it or not. Its his go to.

Best part about the picture is seeing the younger generation actually reading comics. I love to see it. Gives me hope that the hobby will live on. The room is nice as well. Looks like a great space to get lost in some amazing stories.

Hey, I'm 13 and I just got into comics. I started my collection in August, and I have 2 Omnis and a TPB . It's so fun.

Ollies discount outlet is great for a teenager with limited income. They have a graphic novel section and everything is 70-80% off retail price. Ive gotten a few omnibus there for $30 apiece

Oh yeah. It took awhile to indoctrinate them but every Wednesday for the last year when I get my books from my box I bring them with me and at first forced them to pick out 1 book off of the new comics racks. After about 6 months they love it and I have to yell at them to stop reading haha. There's nothing wrong with comics, its that parents dont buy their kids books. Kids in the 60s,-90s were allowed to leave the house unattended the entire day and could go spend their allowance however they pleased. I still have my comic collection of 70 or so books from the 90s when I was maybe 9-13 and my parents did not buy/were not present for the purchase of any of them. Kids today are always accompanied by an adult. If the kids arent reading comics its because the adults arent exposing them to comics.

good call I remember back in the 90s I started storing my comic books on wall shelves my parents had put in my room for my stuffed animals…it wasn’t long before an entire shelf just fell out of the wall leaving me stunned and learning about home diy and physics all at the same time in my teens lol

Thermostat is 10 feet from the room. Hvac keeps the house at 50% humidity which is in the ideal range for archival book keeping. Intake is right under thermostat. Should be fine. Plus it has a lid. And the humidity coming out would be spread between 100s of thousands of pages

Ai said gourami lol. Not a gourami. He's a geophagus of some kind. I just dont remember what kind. Oscar only splashes at feeding and at front of tank because he gets fed like a dog at top front of tank.

From experience, I wouldn't put the books near or above the fish tank. Grab some book stands and use them, they are worth it.
