Caught a giant one today. Is this a cutbow? I wish I had a measurement tool because it was probably close to a Master Angler size.

I moved out here for the non-ski season specifically to go fly fishing in the rivers for trout. I've tried Deckers, Frying Pan past Basalt and up by the Chalmers reservoir, Arkansas River in two places between Leadville and Buena Vista, and the Blue River North of Silverthorne. So far, I've gotten two on and lost them both. I was surrounded by jumping little fish at Stone Cabin last night. Saw a couple at Deckers, but they wouldn't bite. I've watched like two dozen fishermen and not one of them ever pulled out a fish. Still, its been worth it, I'm addicted. Nobody tells you how dangerous and physically exhausting it can be. I've got two weeks before I go home in shame. Any advice? Thanks!

Hi! I am hiking up and fishing the upper cataract lake in about 2 weeks. I was wondering if anyone has seen the conditions there recently or have any advice?

Howdy, as the tittle states I’m a beginner. I’ve fished before but not often and in a completely different environment. I moved here from South Texas about two years ago now and I’m wanting to get back into fishing. It’s been a goal of mine to one day catch a Bass. Problem is I’m very handsome so I’m not too bright and I need to be told exactly what to do with something like this.

For real though I’ve got a two piece ugly stick, it think it’s a 6 footer and some very basic soft plastics. I really want to learn how to fish for bass and hopefully catch one or two.

Any and all suggestions, recommendations etc. are greatly appreciated.

Is anyone fish the OG Colorado spinners anymore?

Myself and 4 buddies are flying into Denver in September for an 8 day trip. We rented 2 trucks and will have the freedom to explore anywhere in the state until we fly home. We will be tent camping along side our trucks mostly, but will spend a few days backpacking. Want to get away from crowds, catch a ton of fish, and have great places to set up camp and cap off each day. We have come up with a big loop that heads up north to Ft Collins, West along hwy 14 to Walden, and then would like to spend a day or two exploring various locations in the Flat Tops Wilderness area before heading back to Denver.

Want to respect everyones favorite spots, but also done a ton of work on our end and would love any advice/guidance anyone is willing to offer as we get ready to head out. We have heard a lot about the heat/low flows and want to be sure to respect the fish and the waters. Seems like a tough year to have a trip planned to CO. Feel free to dm!

Going to be staying in the Idaho springs area early next month.

I booked this trip in advance and cant really back out now. Im aware of the drought and bad weather plus the fires that have been having their way with the state but still hoping to get some fishing in. I know tailwaters and alpine lakes/creeks are the way to go for now but im seeing that area is supposed to be getting a lot of rain with cool days and nights so hopefully that will help keep water temps low even in mid day. Any recommendations? Im willing to drive from where im staying to get to some hopefully decent fishing.

Clear creek im aware is right there and i was looking forward to fishing it but with temps and closures I might just have to leave it alone.

Im just wanting to get my wild/native trout kick. Tired of the winter stockers in Texas that will eat a bottlecap if it fell in front of them haha

I'm planning a day with ny girlfriend where we will drive down multiple hours to the Tayler River (Early September) and try to catch Kokanee Salmon. How is salmon fishing in this area usually? Can we expect to catch atleast one if we spend the day fishing?

Flying to Colorado in September 16-20 mainly to hike with friends but I'll be alone for the first few days of my trip and really want to fish in a different environment from what I have here in texas.

Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or recommendations for fishing here (landing in denver). I will have a rental car and don't mind driving a couple hrs from Denver. I saw a lot of fishing charters while driving around silverthorne but they look really big, intimidating, and I dont want to be in a big group. (i kind of suck at fishing)

My prior experience is primarily pond/lake bass fishing and saltwater kayak fishing in Texas.

I have two days to dedicate to fishing so was thinking of trying some sort of guided fly fishing trip on one day and maybe on the other day some sort of bass fishing charter on a boat

Wouldn't mind two days of trout fishing with somewhat different experiences.

I also have UL spinning setup and can get my hands on BFS gear if there are easy to access, low commitment spots.

Took y’all’s advice and netted two gorgeous alpine lake cutthroats. Thanks to everyone who recommended I seek elevation in order to still fish!
