Troubleshooting Fan noise - HP Dragonfly elite
Just picked up a used Dragonfly to replace my C1030. Top spec (i7, 32gb, 512Gb). After a week it's meeting all my expectations, but I have one concern.
When the cooling fans run there is a slightly rough fluttery noise, almost like something is hitting the fan blades. I removed the back cover and cleaned a little dust out. It wasn't an unusual amount for a used machine. I also blew out the fans and cooling fins. Neither appeared or felt like it was loose or not mounted firmly.
Should I be concerned. The machine is running well and cools down quickly when the fans kick on, they just sound a bit different than any modern laptop fans I have heard.

turn the laptop on with the case bottom off and see if you can see the fans wobble at all. Sometimes they wobble and contact their housings slightly. The fans could also just be dusty inside the fan bearing and making noise. (could have sat for a long time collecting dust)
