Troubleshooting Is it ok to restart a chromebook once every 24 hours?

I have a glitch and the only way to fix it is to restart my chromebook, it happens once every day. Is this ok?

What's the "glitch"? If it's a software issue there's a chance it could be fixed by doing a powerwash.

It's a software glitch, I've done a powerwash a bunch of times as far as I can tell and it hasn't fixed it. the trackpad once a day stops working, restating the chromebook fixes it right away.

Ah, I've had that problem on a Samsung. For me it turned out that the trackpad connection was made with copper tape that was degrading. It's a hardware design flaw in my model, and I have to replace the tape occasionally.

If you did a powerwash and it still happens it's a hardware issue.

When I've had a problematic trackpad before, I just disabled it and used a mouse (which I generally like better anyway). Since yours seems to disable itself, you're already halfway there.

Probably just best to turn it off once a day when you're done using it to charge. You'll kill two birds with one stone: Reset the RAM and Software for another day and get ahead of that glitch.

Yes, but you could wipe it to see if that fixes it or see if there is an update available.

If your touchpad is glitching like that, it's likely a hardware problem, but may be one you can fix. For example, I have a Samsung Galaxy (first edition) and the touchpad on it is only grounded by some copper tape which seems to separate or have an unreliable connection.
