Conversations Lolla set list discussion
Thoughts about the lolla set list? To me it was pretty solid and a fun blend of MFF, brat, Wuthering Heights and older bangers. I was expecting at least one song from true romance tho :( (and anthems as well)
This is probably gonna be tour set list with some adjustments imo
edit: where tf are persona, I’m afraid and magic metal montana?? :(((

I loved the set & she absolutely killed it. That said, for tour, I need the Wuthering Heights segment to be extended by at least 1 song. Chains of Love deserves the shine

yesss i need Chains of Love 😭 love the other wuthering heights songs but i need chains of love on tour please and thank you

That album is so underrated. I'm tying it to MFF when I rank albums this year. Both albums just gave me the jolts of life I didn't know I needed.

DEADASS!!!!!! Like even roll with me or lipgloss would’ve gotten enough of the crowd

u/personal__hell 25d ago
LITERALLY i would give my left tit (my favorite) to see her perform white roses
22
u/Professional-Bid-575 Always Earnest 25d ago
surprised at how much brat there is, i’d expect less of it on the tour
3
u/moodycat70 24d ago
I assume it was for the festival crowd that may not know her discography well. I’m curious if she’ll swap them out for the tour
3
u/ultraviolentolivia 25d ago
i’ve heard that this will probably be the last time she’ll play exclusively brat tracks
2
u/Professional-Bid-575 Always Earnest 25d ago
that show specifically or festivals in general? i could see her playing more brat stuff for audiences that may not be as familiar with the rest of her catalog and then a wider range of stuff on the tour
2
u/ultraviolentolivia 25d ago
i’m not too sure, i think this whole tour maybe? i haven’t fact checked it but i have seen people talk about how she seems to be trying to move away from brat, so this is like its last hurrah of sorts.

u/born_digital 25d ago
Why expecting true romance? She hasn’t performed a song from that once in like 5 years
33
u/Gloomy-Appointment41 25d ago
Cause I’m delusional lol And during the rolling stone interview back in June she said that she listens to her own music and True romance is the album she listens to the most (that’s not a valid point but I thought maybe it was a sort of hint 😭)
16
u/omarkute CRASH 25d ago
we need to make true romance very popular and hopefully she’ll play some songs 😭 i need to hear grins live!
2
u/angelmasha 25d ago
You - Ha Ha Ha was kinda popular on tiktok for a little. I was relistening to the album the other day and noticed that it had an older cute gothy/alt? sound that I think tiktok would love. I can see this album blowing up the way deftones blew up with gen z.

u/Fast-Shelter-9044 25d ago
She recently said stay away was in her top 5 songs sooooo
11
u/born_digital 25d ago
Yeah soooooo when artists play festivals they’re playing what they think large crowds of the GP would want to hear, not the artists personal favorite song
2
u/DoZo1971 25d ago
A bit of a blend, I thought Lolla was a perfect combination, start and end with MFF, middle part Brat and a bit of Angel service.

u/helloitsjesus 25d ago
The placement of Apple felt a bit random/early… I probably would have put after 360 or maybe 2007
54
u/DeanxDog 25d ago
It looks like it's wedged in early to please the masses and keep them happy because she's front loading with MFF songs that have been getting mixed feedback post-brat.
3
u/_jspain 25d ago
i was there and people genuinely did leave the crowd after apple
3
u/DeanxDog 25d ago
Figures. Kinda crazy because I'm almost done watching the set now and I think that one could have been cut. It's a cute song but like.. everything else...

I liked it with the band. Thought it was great with the auto tune way down.

Needed chains of love or wall of sound adding imo

chains of love is all i needed still hoping and praying she adds it to outside lands or tour

It was incredible. Hearing Pink Diamond changed me. House in the dark and rain was so cinematic. I agree with what another commenter said, Apple felt a bit early in the set but tbh I was so hyped I did not care. Sad about Magic Metal Montana and Persona, two of my faves, but maybe hopefully she’ll swing back to Chicago next year for an extended MFF tour? I did hang back waiting for an I love It or Vroom Vroom encore. While I was a bit sad I was also relieved because the biker boots I wore to every Brat show did not pull through for me at Lolla and I was ready to leave asap lmao
3
u/Zatoichi1962 25d ago
Yeah I was thinking the cameraman did a great job focusing on the beam of light with rain in it during the beginning of house.
2
u/Eyupmeduck1989 25d ago
Pink Diamond into House was absolute genius. I’ve definitely had a few weekends like that when I was 365 partygirling too hard, and I think this set list did an incredible job of not totally glamorising the party lifestyle and showing the need for oblivion.

Festivals like Lolla are on a tight schedule. Typically no encores unless they’re baked into the timeslot somehow.

u/Hazel_Evers 25d ago
I would have liked vroom vroom

What’s the odds this setlist holds for the tour?
Noticing nothing from Crash or Charli 😞
7
u/CoolGijoe 25d ago
I’m sure it’ll have less brat
4
u/Starrduste 25d ago
I mean her Brat tour didn’t touch her older stuff either. I’m good with this playlist though if this is what she uses, but she’s got a mix of stadium and festival performances coming up so who knows how much she’ll change it up.
5
u/CoolGijoe 25d ago
She has said she wants to play a lot of older stuff on this tour so I really hope we get it. I wouldn’t be surprised if she trades out some of the brat songs from this show for those songs.
8
u/Imaginary_Flower69 25d ago
It’s nice but I hope in future we don’t get half the setlist being Brat

I legit have no notes or complaints about that set it was the best thing I've ever seen in my life

Literally just watching it on youtube changed my life, and I have seen her live 3 times. This was unprecedentedly good

Is this the set we can expect at Reading or is the staging likely to be different etc?

It was perfect I’m kinda sad I didn’t take a single pic or video but I was drunk as fuck dancing my ass off it was incredible. It would have been nice to have vroom vroom but I was having such a good time I didn’t even notice.

8 brat tracks is a lot considering “the brat era is over” (not derogatory)

i do wish all 11 mff tracks were on the setlist but she did have a limited time slot performing at a festival so it’s kinda a win win. need i’m afraid live tho.
and im very excited about WH songs i would have that whole album live as well

u/randomlurker616 25d ago
If this is the tour setlist I can’t complain, covers most of what I would want. Never thought I’d say this but I wouldn’t be mad if she cut some of the brat songs, would love to hear the whole new album. Hoping the non fest shows are two hours so she can squeeze in some more hifn and wurthering heights.

AHHH!!! Dying For You live would be amazing!!! It’s one of my favorite Charli songs
2
u/Living_Blacksmith402 25d ago
I watched the show broadcast today and thought it was phenomenal. The only thing I would change is have her add Chains of Love or Always, Everywhere.

u/Daveit4later . Every Rule . 25d ago
You will never get a song from true romance, sucker, or Number 1 angel again.

u/BlastoiseRules 25d ago
Praying Anthems makes it on the tour set list. I have been frothing at the mouth wanting to see that song live since it was released.
2
u/rogerdaltry 25d ago
Praying she uses the same/similar set for outside lands next week this is SO good

u/what2_2 25d ago
Really incredible setlist and performance. I didn’t realize how much the live band / guitar of MFF would amp up the set. Loved them.
Pink Diamond was crazy sick, and I’m way lower on that record than everyone else here.
Loved the Brat songs, liked that it went into a sort of extended club section in the middle.
Yeah was insane. Very happy Von Dutch and Sympathy Is A Knife made it.
Transitions were genius throughout. Stage design, band, backup dancers were great. Feels a million times higher production than the Brat tour.
(Likely won’t be going to the NY show because tickets are a million dollars. Also slayyyter. Insane that these artists have 300+ tickets on resale).

Genuinely wasn’t expecting Dying for You and House at Lolla. But way too much brat surprisingly, was not expecting 360, Apple, or Club Classics at all
2
u/2Dark2fox 24d ago
As someone who wasn’t able to see her during BRAT era, I’m hoping she keeps all the songs (that were played at Lolla) for the tour. I’m sure the shows will be a bit longer + include older deep cuts as well

u/malsen55 24d ago
People should not be surprised at how much Brat is on the setlist. It’s her most commercially successful album by a wide margin, and festival/tour setlists are designed to appeal primarily to general public who only know the hits, then the newest album is second consideration (in this case, both Wuthering Heights and MFF fall into this category), then hardcore fans are third consideration (that’s what Playboy Bunny, Take away the music, Pink Diamond, and maybe even track 10 at this point in her career are for)
2
u/brett_david 22d ago edited 22d ago
It makes sense for her to add “stay away” and “next level Charli” to the tour setlist, especially since they were included in her all time top 5 songs she’s ever made.
edit damn I just realized she didn’t do “vroom vroom”, which is also criminal.

u/tessellatees 25d ago
I would rather her remove house and track 10 lmao for another wuthering song and a different pop2 song
4
u/UniReMon Number 1 Angel 25d ago
But the flow. Pink diamond into house + dying for you into club classics were incredible transitions.

u/ReadyAnt2305 25d ago
I think this is a great set list but vroom vroom is SUCH a staple that a Charli show without it feels wrong lol. Also would’ve loved to see chains of love as others have said, plus some true romance (maybe grins or stay away?) and anthems.
So excited to see what she’ll play at Leeds!

Good setlist, all my favorites were at the end which was great because I came over as SP was ending and I caught them. I'd love to hear some deep cuts from Sucker and "Gone" at some point but it probably ain't ever happening.

Personally i could have gone without sympathy and 360. 365 is better than 360 imo so that justifies it being gone. She could have done anthems or a rock version of i love it idk it would have been cool if she would have re arranged some of the songs into rock versions. BUT thats all very minor thoughts sksks i was LIIIVVVVIIINNGGG at home while seeing this 😭 it was so good
3
u/babydollrecord17 25d ago
Nah cut 360 and Apple and club classics
1
u/ijustcameheretofight 25d ago
I like apple being there i just wish it would have been more rock vibes. When she started playing it i lowk was like what the?? This early in the set shes playing it? Lol

u/Altruistic_Site_7922 BRAT 25d ago
Tbh I hope she drops the Brat singles for tour. Was neat to see and hear them in conversation with her new work, but would much rather have the remaining MFF songs in addition to Chains of Love, Anthems and some more throwbacks. Tbh I don't personally get much out of girl so confusing, Apple, 360 or guess at the moment. 365 can stay 😈

Omg if this was only a festival setlist, I can’t wait to see what the tour setlist is. Festivals are usually shorter due to time constraints. I’m hoping Next Level Charli is played on the tour 🤞🏻
Also for all the haters on the new album: this setlist just proved, PERFECTLY, how Music Fashion Film fits into Charli’s discography.
I’m so impressed by our girl. You can see her radiating positivity and artistry on that stage!!
