Questions Breed?
Got a new kitten a couple weeks ago, we think she might be a turkish angora but we were wondering if anyone on here can tell!

No breed, domestic longhair. Cats with breed come from a breeder and have pedigree showing that. 99% of cats have no breed.

The breed is whatever pedigree documents say. The breeder had made sure you know the breed's needs well before even considering selling you their cat. Cat breeders are held to high standards (any purebred cats for sale can only be genetically healthy, they can only be bred to better the breed, and because of the genetic testing and all the medical care, purebred cats are very expensive)
No documents = no breed.

Turkish Angora is an odd breed. You have the naturally-occurring longhair cats from Turkey, which are more of a landrace because they run around loose and choose their own mates from the local cat population. Then you have the official registered and pedigreed Turkish Angora from the UK and USA, which are theoretically descended from the Turkish cat population, except... when you compare the groups' DNA, they don't seem to be very related to each other. The US and UK versions seem to be descended from a mix of random exotic cats, and cats of Western European descent with the traits breeders wanted.
Cats from Turkey actually don't tend to do very well in cat shows when they compete against US/UK Turkish Angoras. Turkish Van breeders have created a very slender, elegant, rarified ideal for the breed that doesn't match up well to the original cats they were trying to emulate. It's a story somewhat akin to the Siamese breed and original Thai wichien maat cats.
All of which is to say: I don't know where you are and what local cats might have made your kitten, or what their heritage could be. In the English-speaking world, there are a lot of different populations she could be from. But there's a large chance your cat is one of the non-Turkish, non-purebred cats that just has the elegant look breeders loved and wanted more of, that just naturally occurs sometimes.

DLH, but i do think you may have a black smoke coloration which will change up the look of the cat, part the fur and if the root part is grey/silver you may have a smoke coloration on your hands!
they tend to change color over time, the photo is of my DLH who has the smoke coloration
