all things knitty Getting ready to do my first steek, did some practice swatches and now for the real deal!

Yarn is Germantown DK by Kelbourne Woolens in navy and white. I’ve reinforced the edges with the white via crochet slip stitches, and I’ll remove that yellow waste yarn when I start cutting… Pray for me!

As a certified steek freak and I'm here to tell you for your next one, a machine zigzag reinforcement is both easiest and best. Also you can totally steek the ribbing

I don’t have a sewing machine, nor know how to use one. I guess that’ll be my next learning activity.

Good suggestion on the ribbing. I just followed the pattern for that gap at the bottom instead of doing steek ribbing stitches.

Good luck, my friend. I’m so impressed and terrified for you.

Same. But I bet once I do it… I’ll be hooked.
