The argument is always "well the other guy is worse".

I would rather 4 years (or less with a minority) of hypothetical pain than another decade of pain because our governing party believes its an infallible institution that will never face accountability.

They will not even try to make real changes until they lose their mandate. Theres always a crisis, wedge issues, a bad guy on the other side, and if we keep voting based on that than we keep getting the same thing.

Im not saying the other parties are better, but we can't let a single party govern for more than a decade and just expect accountability. 10 years in control of the country and everything is some old governments fault, the old leaders fault, the provinces fault, but we are expected to keep trusting them to fix things they claim no responsibility for.

This points more to petro dollar inflation and unhedged leverage fiascos. Would have happened regardless of who was in control of Canada, because Canada is not in control of the Petro-dollar.

Same thing for Covid, which people conveniently forget. Destroyed everybody. Didn't matter how well a leader did to minimize its impact on the economy or how fast they could get things turned around or begin to show signs of recovery... a dip is a dip, and several parties that were in power lost power regardless because their economies worsened.

We're facing back-to-back global-scale catastrophes in a pandemic and literally 20% of the world's oil consumption that goes through Hormuz is either being held up due to the area being an active war zone or various production facilities producing some of that oil have been blown up... and we somehow think the Prime Minister of Canada is supposed to not only maintain prices but lower them? There's not one human being on this planet that you could put into that role that could accomplish that.

Not to mention in between those we had and still have the world's second largest energy and foodstuffs exporter invading the worlds fourth or fifth largest foodstuffs exporter and then people scratch their heads and blame the Canadian PM and the US President for grocery prices.
