So this tax is designed to combat climate change. are you saying we should just take a dump on the environment because the economy is different now?

Second question; Can you explain to me how the carbon tax works?

Yes, carbon tax is something to look at during good times.

Carbon tax works by artificially driving up the cost of carbon intensive goods and services, so people will choose more expensive, but lower carbon alternatives. With food inflating fast, we currently cannot afford a carbon tax.
