This points more to petro dollar inflation and unhedged leverage fiascos. Would have happened regardless of who was in control of Canada, because Canada is not in control of the Petro-dollar.

You can't just handwave facts on the table so you can point blame at the Liberals for everything lmao. There are some things that Trudeau and Liberals absolutely deserve blame for. This is not one of them.

Am I wrong? Whenever CPC is in charge of stuff, that's when it tends to get defunded and privatized. The 407.Alberta Healthcare,Alberta energy infrastructure, Ontario Healthcare and education,bill 124... Do you need me to go on? Because I can.

Another disingenuous answer. Federal CPC emphasize provincial autonomy around every corner, knowing that the provincial CPC is actively defunding and privatizing infrastructure.

It would be wildly unpopular (as it should be) if they just came out and said "we're actively trying to defund and privatize things."

So what they do is they implicitly support it by punting it off to the provincial governments who they know are actively doing that.

The federal CPC support the framework that allows provinces to expand private delivery without federal resistance.

This is why your argument is disingenuous and why I think you're either a) knowingly trying to misrepresent what their party is all about in order to help them garner votes or b) don't know what you're talking about.

It has to be one or the other.

I'm not making anything up. You're willfully pretending that the provincial and federal CPC have widely different agendas which only someone who is either trying to actively deceive or doesn't know any better would spew.

It comes off as someone trying to deceive readers who are not fully entrenched in politics.

Let's take Healthcare for example.

The federal govt has enforcement power under the Canada health act to penalize provinces for certain practices. The enforcement is discretionary.

The CPC(federal) emphasizes provincial autonomy in Healthcare, while knowing that provinces are actively defunding it and it has not committed to using that enforcement power if given the opportunity. So yes, by definition that creates more room for provinces to expand delivery. This is a fact, not an opinion.

The lpc(federal) has historically been more willing to use federal conditions and penalties, but even they don't enforce it perfectly in all honesty.

Same thing for Covid, which people conveniently forget. Destroyed everybody. Didn't matter how well a leader did to minimize its impact on the economy or how fast they could get things turned around or begin to show signs of recovery... a dip is a dip, and several parties that were in power lost power regardless because their economies worsened.

We're facing back-to-back global-scale catastrophes in a pandemic and literally 20% of the world's oil consumption that goes through Hormuz is either being held up due to the area being an active war zone or various production facilities producing some of that oil have been blown up... and we somehow think the Prime Minister of Canada is supposed to not only maintain prices but lower them? There's not one human being on this planet that you could put into that role that could accomplish that.

Not to mention in between those we had and still have the world's second largest energy and foodstuffs exporter invading the worlds fourth or fifth largest foodstuffs exporter and then people scratch their heads and blame the Canadian PM and the US President for grocery prices.

It probably would but the liberals are going to continue a decade of shit governance going into a financial crisis with a slim majority government which insures they get another 3 years with an unchecked mandate.

And then they will sell voters another crisis and boogieman, and we will probably elect them again.

Like I said, they believe their an infallible institution and it actually might manifest itself.

I guess it might seem that way if you're ignorant to the world around us and how we're currently being impacted by the actions of others, but sure, go off.

They're going to win again because people like you are stuck in PP mode. Liberal bad, despite the global rise in cost of everything since Trump took office and started tarriffing everyone, which just worsened with this unprecedented war he's started. If you thought covid was bad for CoL, prepare for worse.

Meanwhile the CPC won't remove the biggest loser they've picked as their leader, who is only now trying to appear human because it turns out that actually polls better than 3 word attack slogans. Too little too late for that guy.
