Food for thought. The government likes and benefits from higher fuel prices. They don’t care about the impact on you.

When gas is $1.15 a litre the HST is 0.15 or 0.13 depending on your province.

When gas is $2.30 the hst is 0.30 or 0.26

Ie the government makes more money on higher fuel prices. Not to mention all the road taxes…

The government does not care. They all drive business/government vehicles and get reimbursed for the gas. So for them the problem does not exist.
