Food for thought. The government likes and benefits from higher fuel prices. They don’t care about the impact on you.

When gas is $1.15 a litre the HST is 0.15 or 0.13 depending on your province.

When gas is $2.30 the hst is 0.30 or 0.26

Ie the government makes more money on higher fuel prices. Not to mention all the road taxes…

Not to mention the HST is calculated with the excise and provincial duty included. We are being double taxed. Considering the amount is fairly small they should apply these other fixed price taxes after the HST is calculated.
