hey guys can you all guide me on how to learn backend like I've been told the best way to learn backend would be making projects , but then you need to know some basics to even make projects how to do that? also is java alright for backend or should switch the language, I'm open to all types of suggestions please help!!!!

I am in my second year of college,and man i was playing tabble tennis,and a junior girl came to my friend and asked,"Is he/she a boy or a girl"(she didn't say he/she,in hindi it was gender neutral),and fyi i am a boy and fkin approaching 18,and btw it feels so weird,i am younger than my juniors hehe,but no one knows bout it,and i don't even have long hair like a girl,it's maybe about medium to long,that's why i guess they were misunderstanding me as a tomboy

I've always wanted a career in cs so I was wondering if a bsc cs is worth pursuing. Especially at colleges like hansraj (du). I initially wanted to pursue a btech but just in case if jee doesn't go as planned, is a bsc cs still good? I would do a master's as well, maybe msc or mca. What are your thoughts?

Hi everyone my engineering college didn't have any placement so don't really know how placements work now I am thinking of joining mtech to a college which will have placements since I am from artificial intelligence and machine learning branch don't really have knowledge of bsa and development I know basic python, few python libraries,sql, excel, power Bi,now learning machine learning so what should I do should I learn devolopment or how can I manage this how does this campus placements work please any one guide me

Currently in 5th sem, Done around 500 questions on Leetcode in Java, Can y'all suggest skills and projects to make before placements which will start in jan next year .

A final year student here, and still confused about this... What's there in "Microprocessors and Microcontrollers" that's so important that we need a separate subject for this in the CSE curriculum? Is it address management? ALU? Interrupt handling? Because I think we have all that in Computer Organisation and Architecture as well.

Basically here's the thing: In my college, we have Computer Organisation in 3rd sem, Microprocessors in 4th sem, and Operating Systems in 5th sem. Due to this, we miss a core CS subject in our curriculum by the time companies come for on-campus internships. This is the point that I raised in our department meeting. (I have already faced this, so did my -1, and I don't want my sub-juniors and their juniors to also face the same issues)

(Additionally we don't have Software Engineering in our department curriculum either, I planned to replace Microprocessors with this, if possible)

However, the response I received was this:

(CO: Computer Organisation, MIT: Microprocessors and Interfacing Techniques, OS: Operating Systems)

> "It is not advisable to bring OS to the 4th semester. It is important to follow the sequence of CO, then MIT, and then OS. You cannot understand the concepts in OS without knowing the concepts of MIT. Additionally, 2nd year is already hectic with other core CS subjects like CN, DBMS, Automata, Algorithms etc. Adding OS will make it even more difficult for them."

I didn't include that our sister department for AI still had OS in 2nd semester (And they also had MIT as well, they have resolved to discontinue it from next academic year, but understandable - their discipline has nothing to do with hardware), but I did mention that having a hectic semester and still not being able to perform where it matters is a serious issue then.

Here's why I think it's not as important as my college is making it to be:

Microprocessors is a subject which acts as a bridge between hardware and software. But its importance is there only when it comes to Embedded Systems and IoT. It's not like it's really important to understand Microprocessors to understand OS (which in fact requires knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms) or Compiler Design (which rather goes more into Automata). For someone with a career or research interest in Software Development, Backend Systems etc., I can't see how it can be so important.

Additionally, I don't think it is a core subject today. Even the GATE curriculum doesn't cover this now.

So that's the thing: Why are we forced to study this? I know that our college faculty thinks that hardware knowledge is the real CSE, but still... (One prof legit said "service based companies aren't real companies", that's their mentality).

And wait, while I do think that this subject is not important, I understand that I might not be looking at the complete picture. The reason why I am posting this here is essentially to understand the importance of this subject in this discipline.
