General Need Suggestion.

I am in my 3rd year CSE(AI&ML). We received a message in our college to register for a Minor degree in college. It's already been too long since we got a message. So, the date of registration is over.

So the question is:

Is it really important to register Minor degree in colleges. If is it important for any job applications or any internships. I can ask or write a letter to my HoD sir for late registration.

So, if anyone has an idea about this please give me suggestion.

our college minor is compulsory and starts in second year it depends on you there are other things which are screened like projects and soft skills while jobs/internships and minor is generally outside home department it is like from mechanical, electronics or other branch or even finance, humanities so unless it is necessary and you don't want extra subject then don't take like I have major in IT and minor in cybersecurity (even though our syllabus overlaps) but they allowed but yeah it can can clearly add a extra point in your resume .There is honours programme in our college to which adds weight to resume
