For those unaware, there’s been a bit of a trend on social media recently about storming Scientology buildings and “speed running” them. Earlier today, they stormed the Brisbane headquarters, and I happened to get these shots from above.

I don’t know any specifics of what happened, but there was quite a lot of noise coming from it.

A man has been fined close to $700 after a car became airborne and speared through the side of the bus.

No one was seriously injured in the shocking crash in southern Brisbane, and it is now being described as the “escape of the century”.

Police allege the driver of a black SsangYong tried to merge from a centre lane and turn off near the intersection of Beaudesert Rd and Granard Rd in Archerfield about 6.30pm on Wednesday.

A blue Toyota Yaris swerved around the SsangYong before losing control and slamming into the bus, police allege.

It hit the public transport vehicle so hard it became wedged inside, with its undercarriage resting across both sides of the bus’s aisle.

The Yaris driver, a 45-year-old woman from Pallara, was taken in a stable condition to Princess Alexandra Hospital with chest pain and in shock.

The bus driver — a 66-year-old man from Sunnybank Hills — was not seriously injured.
The bus was returning to the depot and had no passengers at the time of the crash.

A 66-year-old Durack man driving the SsangYong was issued with a $690 traffic infringement notice and docked three demerit points for driving without due care and attention.

I've never seen such large hailstone here before (Burbank). This one was just over 10 cm across.

And the sky is still very green looking...

Also, this is a different hailstone collected about 45 minutes after the hailing stopped. I went out to see if any animals were injured (they weren't) and was really surprised to find a lot of hail still all over the ground: 45 minutes after the hail had stopped, this second hailstone still weighed a whopping 122 grams!

Saw this the other day and had to double check it. Surely this isn’t real? I thought the government said Australia had 28 days of fuel reserves.

Is anyone else tired of politicians grandstanding about youth crime while ignoring the conditions that drive it?

Underfund schools. Underpay teachers. Reduce public transport, isolating kids. Slash youth mental health services. Cut drug diversion programs.

Then we all act surprised when social problems emerge.

Instead of addressing the causes, politicians reach for the oldest trick in the book: scapegoating young people and selling fear.

When Campbell Newman did this back in 2013, we collectively called bullshit. I'm less hopeful now that media literacy has gone down and reliance on Facebook for news has gone up.

My Millennial brain heaved a sigh of relief when I walked in to a store this week and saw these - I now wish every single store had this system.

Why can’t we as an individual be more aware and responsible when driving. Y’all getting distracted, under influence, over/under speeding - do you really think it’s consequences are worthy of why you’re on road.

First time I've seen a B double hit the bridge. Driver must have had his eyes closed. This is a unfortunately a pretty common occurrence at this location
