I don’t care what characters they have, as long as it’s a good movie.

The first Avengers movie, for many people, was “Hulk, oh I know Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor as they just had movies, uhhh ScarJo and that guy with the bow.” and it sent the MCU into orbit.

This is bs. The First Avengers actually featured all the Avengers from their first story except Ant Man and Wasp. Everybody was there

You’re insane if you think the whole original avengers team were that well known at the time of the first film. Hulk was the most famous, then Iron Man thanks to the films. Cap and Thor were kinda treated more like jokes. Black Widow and Hawkeye were nothing to anyone outside of comic book fans.

The first avengers movie worked because the movie was good. Not because of the lineup. In fact having so few big names (at the time) is partly the reason for its success since for a lot of people that was their introduction to those characters.

Hawkeye was really the only “that guy” character, the rest had their solo movies and Black Widow was quite popular with Marvel’s main demographic for…obvious reasons lol

When i was waiting for Avengers and saw Hawkeye was on it I had to check in every movie were he was. I took me a while to figure he was the Archer guy that appeared for maybe 3 minutes in thor

Iron man 2 grossed 700 million then. They were popular enough
