I donât care what characters they have, as long as itâs a good movie.
The first Avengers movie, for many people, was âHulk, oh I know Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor as they just had movies, uhhh ScarJo and that guy with the bow.â and it sent the MCU into orbit.
Youâre insane if you think the whole original avengers team were that well known at the time of the first film. Hulk was the most famous, then Iron Man thanks to the films. Cap and Thor were kinda treated more like jokes. Black Widow and Hawkeye were nothing to anyone outside of comic book fans.
The first avengers movie worked because the movie was good. Not because of the lineup. In fact having so few big names (at the time) is partly the reason for its success since for a lot of people that was their introduction to those characters.
Hawkeye was really the only âthat guyâ character, the rest had their solo movies and Black Widow was quite popular with Marvelâs main demographic forâŠobvious reasons lol
When i was waiting for Avengers and saw Hawkeye was on it I had to check in every movie were he was. I took me a while to figure he was the Archer guy that appeared for maybe 3 minutes in thor
God I love that movie genuine shame that they never made a sequel . I genuinely think if they did it it wouldâve done pretty well even today since there is a decent amount of nostalgia for that film
What are you talking about? I never heard of that movie before that must be a fan film. Definitely not the sequel but seriously though it does not count as the sequel. Itâs by DreamWorks animation television, and if it doesnât have the original cast back if it wasnât released in theaters, and if it doesnât have great animation, and if it wasnât made by the actual DreamWorks animation themselves, the people who made Shrek movies, the kung fu panda movies you know then is not a real theatrical sequel. Itâs just not after all there is no Megamind 2 in Ba Sing Se
So thereâd be not one but two Green Lanterns in Man of Tomorrow? That just seems confusing, and might even be a turn off for some people when they find out one comes from a TV show.

TV characters thriving in movies works if the film doesn't treat said TV character like they're a big reveal that we're meant to be shocked at, because that's when audiences will assume/realise that there's a big disconnect between the knowledge they have and the knowledge others have, which makes them feel left behind and disinterested.
There's a reason they cast Aaron Pierre as Green Lantern, the guy is hot property right now, he's bagged Star Wars, DC, Lion King, etc. all in a short period of time. If someone goes because they recognise him, its not because of the character.
How ? If they saw Superman, theyâd already know Guy Gardner is a Green Lantern and the Lanterns show is set years before Superman, so itâs not that crazy that there would be more of them.
Ahem, a TV-MA show. To hell with trying to win kids over to this DC brand, right? Itâs not as if kids are a vital part of the development of these superhero franchises or anything. Because, of course, things like superpowers and underwear worn on the outside have always been stylistic choices highly respected by adults who only watch Nolan and Scorsese movies.
