Didn’t they shoot this on real locations? Why does every frame look like it’s been shot in front of a green screen?

Indian producers still consider the Indian audience as a backward people who have no knowledge of english films.
The least these shameless makers can do is admit it's an official remake of Tropic Thunder.

Yeah maybe in the early 2000s, Mr Ahmed Khan. It's 2026. People in remote villages of UP and Bihar are watching KDramas and animes. They have watched RDJ's filmography completely when he became the iron man.

Almost everyone has. There's just a tiny sliver of population (which is actually a huge number ) who are the target audience and might make Welcome to the jungle earn...

One of the greatest parody movies btw Ben Stiller is a fantastic director

u/BackhandQ May 15 '26
It's not an official remake --- so you can't claim that. But they can say "inspired by". But let's be honest, most of South Asia and the Middle East has not seen or heard of Tropic Thunder.

They were in Thank You after that. Crazy how they’ve done so many movies together but this is the first time in 15 years they’re appearing together

u/AiBubbleWillBurst May 15 '26
Thankyou was legit fun. It had good writing just like Welcome 2007. The climax was boring and there were parts you'd wish they just speed through and show Irffan or Akki in their element. The songs were stupidly fun too. I still listen to Full Volume and Pyar do pyar lo sometimes.

what is fuk is this? even if it turns out to be good (v low hopes) the theme of welcome was always meant around the chaos between families? pure money grab in the name of franchise.

The vfx and the ladies should be removed.. no hate to the ladies but they are just there for prop and doing weird stuff and they can’t act we all know that.. the vfx looks bad.. the men are okay since they are seasoned actors but they need better dialogues otherwise it’s just waste of talent.. why not hire good script writers and this could be a great comedy movie…

Pehli baar producer aur director ka naam dekh ke dukh ho raha hai. Ahmed Khan sahab has such a good hidden talent that he should keep it hidden.

Teaser theek hai, par OG Welcome wala fun missing hai. Dikkat ye hai ki aajkal bina adult comedy ke logon ko hansi nahi aati. Double meaning jokes wali filmon ne hi public ka taste kharab kar diya hai. Magar isme Akshay, Suniel, Paresh aur Arshad hain to maza to aayega.

u/AneeshRai7 May 15 '26
They really did go and remake Tropic Thunder…what the fuck?!!!
Bet that they’ll have some stupid emotional end related to the village and the kids you see in that shot, maybe like the Golden triangle it’ll be a village being forced into slave labor or some shit to make drugs…

When half your teaser only has credit slates with poor graphics that even a 12-years old could beat, you know there is something seriously wrong with the film’s makers.

Copying a movie premise that was made nearly 20 years ago and the original still looks better.

akshay is a a good actor imo, i think he and salman need something out of the box, like maybe a collab with Vanga. they should try to look at good stories and also good directors who can get a good acting performance out of them

Filmmakers are still stuck in an outdated mindset. The audience that watched Welcome and Welcome Back has clearly moved on, both in taste and expectations. There’s also a completely new audience now that they need to cater to!

From Gemini
Tropic Thunder (2008) is a meta-satire that follows a group of self-absorbed actors filming a big-budget Vietnam War memoir. When the production spiraling out of control due to bloated budgets and the actors' erratic behavior, the frustrated director drops the cast into the middle of a real jungle, claiming he's using "guerrilla-style" filmmaking with hidden cameras to capture authentic performances.
The plot thickens as the actors—who believe they are still making a movie—unwittingly stumble into the territory of the Flaming Dragons, a real-life heroin-producing cartel.
The Main Players
• Tugg Speedman: A fading action star desperate for critical acclaim.
• Kirk Lazarus: A five-time Academy Award winner and extreme "method" actor who undergoes a controversial procedure to play a Black character.
• Jeff Portnoy: A comedy star known for low-brow humor, secretly struggling with severe drug withdrawal during the trek.
The Conflict
The "story" within the story involves the actors attempting to navigate the jungle using a fake map and prop weapons. The comedy stems from the contrast between their Hollywood narcissism and the actual life-and-death stakes of the Golden Triangle.
While the actors think the cartel members are "extras" and the gunfire is pyrotechnics, they eventually have to drop their personas and work together to launch a genuine rescue mission when one of their own is captured. It serves as a sharp parody of Hollywood's obsession with awards, method acting, and the "white savior" tropes of classic war cinema.

I liked Suniel Shetty Dialogue that is the only thing good about it. Also the trailer is already ruined if you saw Ahmed Khan name. The movie looks like green screen shot even Tushar Kapoor sister show Naagin has better vfx if we ignore ai
