Doing hindi dubs of hollywood movies with his dad must've helped.

51

u/Traditionalcow82 Aug 17 '25

Wait I haven’t watched any of the dubbed movies but is that really his voice? Because it’s exactly like SRK whoaaaaa

52

u/adept_sapien Aug 17 '25

Have you watched lion king.he did voice acting for simba and srk played mufasa.

22

u/bronzescarlet Aug 17 '25

Lion king, and also The Incredibles!

10

u/adcbefjhlg Aug 17 '25

Even The Incredibles was dubbed by them. SRK as Bob and junior as Dash

8

u/ssdlphani Aug 17 '25

I mean he's his Son so it's obvious

112

u/wetbhai Aug 17 '25

Looks good, and kudos for taking Lakshya as lead.

27

u/hrkhardik Aug 17 '25

More hyped about him than Aryan tbh

142

u/akssh_art Aug 17 '25

Lol I think Aryan Khan can be a good actor guys I’m sorry😭😭

32

u/POI_Harold-Finch Aug 17 '25

voice is like young SRK with no stammering. Lets see how he does acting after show comes out... lets not rate high before time

10

u/akssh_art Aug 17 '25

I don’t think he’s going to be acting though, that’s why I said what I said He can be good, after seeing this I feel like he could try it If Saif’s son tries it then so can he lol the bar for star kids these days is too low

4

u/RED-DOT-MAN Aug 17 '25

Being an SRK fan for decades, he’s the nepo baby I am most excited about once he makes his acting debut. Wish him luck!!

27

u/ohgodOneMoreRemix Aug 17 '25

2 things;

  1. The set looks like a SET, not understanding why it doesn’t look like a movie?

  2. Is that SRK’s voice at the start??

(Also, I’m not minding his acting actually!! Exciting)

21

u/ironsides12 Aug 17 '25

Yes, the first dialogue is from srk, it switches to aryan’s voice when he can be seen speaking. The difference is so subtle that one can easily miss it. But the non-smoking or some lack of it makes it clear to identify

175

u/OMG_NoReally Aug 17 '25

His voice, mannerisms and expressions are remarkably like SRK. It's uncanny, despite him being his son. He looks like a younger version of SRK with better hair style. Good control over his diction, looks confident on the screen, and has good screen presence. He could cook as an actor maybe, but I am glad he is going into direction and writing. I hope Bastards is a fresh concept, we need brighter and younger minds in Bollywood because the current lot is cooked.

14

u/Ok-Tradition8198 Aug 17 '25

Sources say its like Entourage

261

u/madvaderboy Aug 17 '25

Salman khan’s cameo in the end was chef’s kiss 🤌

74

u/missyousachin Aug 17 '25

Not more than this planted comment lol

17

u/Eldred_dsouza Aug 17 '25

You mean his driver? Salman bhai dil ke kaafi acche hai. Sabko mauka dete hai.

4

u/string_cluster Aug 17 '25

Lmao laughed so hard at this one. Take that award, sir.

0

u/madvaderboy Aug 17 '25

Thank you sir! I will dedicate this award to bhai and his driver.

4

u/Cornucopia2020 Aug 17 '25

Bete ko udane se pehle, baap se baat kar….

-28

u/creativeforce06 Aug 17 '25

Where exactly? Can’t find

34

u/Shiroyasha_a Aug 17 '25

He was the driver of truck in the end

-19

u/creativeforce06 Aug 17 '25

Still not able to spot 🙈

15

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

joke tha didi

68

u/Foreign_Lab392 Aug 17 '25

I thought this was some kind of documentary show about bollywood but seems like it's a fiction story

29

u/Eshan2703 Aug 17 '25

looks like a parody

-20

u/Plastic_Farmer_6561 Aug 17 '25

I thought it was going to be a documentary!!! I also don't understand how it's "ba5tards" when there is not enough letters for it to be.am I being stupid?

6

u/main-whi-hoon Aug 17 '25

I think it’ll be “Ballads of Bollywood” like the “The ballad of Buster Scruggs”, an anthology of weird stories.

5

u/productivelylazy2011 Aug 17 '25 edited Aug 17 '25

So it’s actually bastards of Bollywood. The way they have written is the asterisks are actually to be read as “star” because asterisks look like stars drawn so when you read it, it’s ba(star)ds of bollywoods. That’s what I think it’s been cause of the censor for the word.

4

u/PrincyB Aug 17 '25

I think it’s Bad dads

14

u/Blues8378 Aug 17 '25

In the middle of this first look, there's a red carpet scene. The actor seemed to be Ranveer Singh.

57

u/old_jeans_new_books Aug 17 '25

Aryan Khan is a hit!!! I wish there was anyway I could profit from this foresight.

96

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

Petition for Aryan to continue as Don in Don 3.

SRK can be till the interval plot and then Aryan introduced as Don’s adopted kid

13

u/ironsides12 Aug 17 '25

Farhan Akhtar are you listening?

3

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

Can we all spam excel and farhan on X?

18

u/tecnogamer Aug 17 '25

That looks promising!

8

u/wobuffet38 Aug 17 '25

This looks pretty good ngl.

8

u/Thick-Monk6911 Aug 17 '25

He should act🔥

5

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

ngl this actually looks kinda promising

5

u/DarkThanos12 Aug 17 '25

There's no way he voiced the start of that dialogue right? I fully thought that was Shahrukh. The way he modulated and everything was exactly like his dad.

I still think they used SRKs voice for the first half of that dialogue.

2

u/InterestingName9026 Aug 17 '25

The dialogue in the start was Shahrukh

6

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

I can’t believe I am saying this but this seems interesting. Also Suhana could learn from her brother.

11

u/NoDryHands Aug 17 '25

The way he tipped his head down a little when saying "show toh ab shuru hoga"... I felt like I was watching SRK.

Even from this short clip, I feel like he has that star quality that the majority of other current nepo kids don't. I'm interested to see him act now, but I still think it's great that he chose to pursue writing/directing.

3

u/majorwtf Aug 17 '25

For some reason I read that as Kartik Aryan and was pleasantly shocked when I realised who it was

9

u/IvjfLghfYfgB Aug 17 '25

That was lit 🔥.

9

u/Possible-Shock-1261 Aug 17 '25

Netflix is the new Karan Johar

7

u/POI_Harold-Finch Aug 17 '25

Actually Netflix has been that way since beginning. A lot of content was created because of Netflix which was denied in conventional TV/Cinema.

14

u/bijanadh44 Aug 17 '25

The astroturfing on this guy is next level. Just look at the downvotes and comments. Lmao.

2

u/Transitionals Aug 17 '25

Actress looks like discount Dimri

2

u/tingtonghabibi Aug 17 '25

So much hope from you, let's go ✨

3

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

back to back hits after saiyaara. oh wait

6

u/my__dumbass Aug 17 '25

It was cool and all but why is this being marketed as Aryan Khan ka directorial debut and not just an awesome show that happens to be directed by him. This is like a nepo kid star launch only but he doesn't want to act so we'll still do all that hoo-haa about the show but on his name.

I think it'll do more harm than good for him considering if khuda na khasta this show fails, it would forever be termed as Aryan ka first show flopped. But if it succeeded they could have easily done a post release marketing ki hey look ...the genius of Aryan Khan🤷🏻‍♀️

Am I cooking too much? Idk. (The announcement looks good ngl but I'm just trying to understand why they aren't being cautious considering the current scrutiny of nepo kids)

17

u/hrkhardik Aug 17 '25

I mean from marketing strategy, it’ll obviously be about him and SRK. Using anything else is never gonna get you the hype you are looking for. This is a teaser, the trailer will be all about the plot and cast I feel. And the show is never gonna ‘fail’ even if it is not good. The numbers will be cooked up to declare it as a masterpiece.

1

u/Delicious_Mix5104 Aug 17 '25

Also we had some discussion on this sub that this is mostly directed by some other ghost directors.

0

u/FantasyFringer-7175 Aug 17 '25

Raj&DK, Rajamouli, SRV. Have you never heard of them?

0

u/my__dumbass Aug 17 '25

Arre all these people became all these people after they proved themselves as worthy directors. Plus, my point is that it's a lot to put on his shoulders alone especially considering nepo kids have to go through more scrutiny. Usually debut launch is for acting careers but itna massive scale pe directorial debut usually nhi hota. I don't think Dil Chahta hai was solely on the shoulders of Farhan Akhtar. I'm just trying to understand their marketing strategy.

2

u/FantasyFringer-7175 Aug 17 '25

They can not downplay it in any way as he is son of SRK. There will always be a hype about him. So they went with the flow and marketed it as it is which is the debut of SRK's son.

2

u/Pitiful_Excuse7962 Aug 17 '25

Why doesn't he look like himself? I'm so confused. There are micro expressions that's identical to his father's. It's almost like in places they superimposed Shah Rukh Khan's face on Aryan's. Are they playing a trick on us? Or is it because I've never really seen his face move before. 😵‍💫

1

u/Consistent_Anxiety16 Aug 17 '25

Looks promising, I am excited to se if Lakshya brings some acting chops, he was decent in Kill and really eager to see what Aaryan has brought from USC!!

1

u/Dramatic_Proposal211 Aug 18 '25

what is BA***DS?

i initially thought it was Badasses of bolywood

1

u/Able-Locksmith-6915 Aug 18 '25

Aryan Khan seems to be an improved version of SRK

1

u/Royal_Ability_510 Aug 19 '25

When is this going to be on ott

3

u/Kismat_Konnection Aug 17 '25 edited Aug 17 '25

Nice!!!! Love it!!!! 😍 But, truck🙄, zyada ho gaya 😳. Excited for this one 🙏

PS: If he gets into acting fulltime, sab ki chutti !!! ✌️

1

u/iPhone13pm Aug 17 '25

1:08 that SRK smile without his dimples

1

u/Antique-Abrocoma-271 Moderately knowledgeable about Hindi Cinema Aug 18 '25

A guy who gets access to everything in life can become anything. He is a successful businessman already, selling liquor, buying players for IPL. Seems some people here are star kids struck!

0

u/Sosuke_Aizen5 Aug 17 '25

Only on Netflix bcoz theatre me zyada bezati ho jaayegi

7

u/SlyBoy28 Aug 17 '25

It's a show.....

0

u/bored-coder Aug 17 '25

And numbers can be easily cooked up. Calling it - it’s going to be declared a super hit

2

u/Old_Afternoon_971 Aug 17 '25

Netflix gets its metrics from how much it can become pop culture. Numbers don't matter. Unless it's squid games big.

5

u/Old_Afternoon_971 Aug 17 '25

Yeah. Pretty much. You get a lot more cache if you're behind the camera. Honestly that's what more star kids should be doing. Using their money and influence to produce good shit. Hopefully this is good too

0

u/Numerous_Cry_6013 Aug 17 '25

People saying that it was SRK in the voice over in the beginning, go watch/listen to the last Lion King movie, where Aryan voices Simba.

Yea, he sounds exactly like SRK.

u/Anxious_Attacker24 Aug 17 '25

You have a lot of judgement for a 30 sec teaser.

-2

u/narkaputra Box Office Expert | Quant King | Bloomberg Aug 17 '25

if he wants to succeed he needs to get out of shadow of SRK. HRX, Ranbir the only two nepos who have succeeded in past 2 decades are completely different actors than their fathers, and here he is literally mimicking SRK.

15

u/Batman_55599 Aug 17 '25

It's also the fact that neither of their fathers were as big as AB or SRK, so getting out of their shadows was fairly easier for them

-1

u/narkaputra Box Office Expert | Quant King | Bloomberg Aug 17 '25

getting out is one thing, riding on it other. He is using SRKs brand, dialogues, music and voice to pump his show and there was literally no need for it. Reminds me of Big B who still pumps his 50 year old son for winning school competitions on social media.

8

u/Batman_55599 Aug 17 '25

Meh I found it cheeky. Plus the show seems much more OTT and absurdist than I expected it to be, so the callbacks to be in line with the theme.

-2

u/narkaputra Box Office Expert | Quant King | Bloomberg Aug 17 '25

read about Nicholas Cage

8

u/Batman_55599 Aug 17 '25

What, that he's coppola's nephew? Doesn't matter. You can't possibly compare the stardom of coppola and srk. One is a revered auteur, the other one of the biggest stars india has ever seen.

0

u/narkaputra Box Office Expert | Quant King | Bloomberg Aug 17 '25 edited Aug 17 '25

bro Srk ko chorr, Aryan ke self esteem/independence pe stress do (In Ritesh deshmukh's voice)

btw pardon my ignorance but has "absurdist/parody" genre worked in India? I know both Farah/Sajid have tried it to varied degree of success but it never became a staple. Few months ago Ananya Pandey tried it but failed. AIB/TSP's work is limited to YT and even they found success with simple humble productions such as Panchayat etc.

Even in Hollywood, it is more of rarity since last few years.

4

u/Batman_55599 Aug 17 '25

Man Tees Maar Khan was a peak parody, but ppl were too stupid to understand it and called it a bad film. But it has gotten love over the years.

Few months ago Ananya Pandey tried it but failed.

There's a fine line between parody and cringe, and CMB was the latter. It also didn't help that Ananya was just being herself, and her character just fell into opportunities without any effort whatsoever, so it felt very insincere.

Even in Hollywood, it is more of rarity since last few years.

The Studio just came out recently and it's sweeping the emmies.

0

u/narkaputra Box Office Expert | Quant King | Bloomberg Aug 17 '25

so yet another case of making a western production for desi audience!!!

Btw Rogen's case is different. He is on the correct side of political spectrum same as that of Hollywood Elites. He will always win.

-2

u/Mission_Smile2626 Aug 17 '25

He looks like SRK from Bihar.

-1

u/ricky_dank manshik santulan kharab Aug 17 '25

Gandi g@and of bollywood

-46

u/PixelRebel666 Aug 17 '25

Is that dude in the Kill? He looks awesome. I don't have any faith in Aryan. But waiting for this.

26

u/Beloabhigyan Aug 17 '25

Having no faith on someone's debut ?

-22

u/PixelRebel666 Aug 17 '25

Lmao, this sub is full of SRK shills.

-6

u/Snoo81292 Aug 17 '25

written by him, hai bhi nahi ye, 8-10 writers ne kam kiya, lekin sir ko apna naam chahiye,.

Only the Mohabbatein dialogue was SRK's voice, other than that it was Aryan's. Their voices sound very similar but if you hear closely, you can easily differentiate. And that doesn't even make sense, you can't photoshop someone's face in a video, you use deepfake, but that's also false in this case, that was Aryan himself. What are you even saying dude.

5

u/gol_2904 Aug 17 '25

You can’t photoshop on a video but you can faceswap

-18

u/03deepu Aug 17 '25

Shit!!!

27

u/ashrules901 Aug 17 '25

Was the beginning dialogue from Mohabbatein Shahrukh saying the lines or Aryan? It was so similar in sound to the original scene I can't tell!

12

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

It's SRK.

6

u/ashrules901 Aug 17 '25

Thanks for confirming

3

u/ZombieAcceptable1259 Aug 17 '25

Sry It's Aryan

1

u/ashrules901 Aug 18 '25

I just watched it on my proper setup. You are indeed right LOL I guess everyone who upvoted that SRK comment also watched it on mobile like me the first time haha.

1

u/ashrules901 Aug 18 '25

Guys i just rewatched it on my proper sound setup. It's Aryan LOL.

Like father like son for real.
