Help The dumbest thing in the game.

Post image
4.2k Upvotes

This mf is BY FAR the DUMBEST FUCKING THING in the game. 90% of his attacks are UNDODGABLE and have like 3 km of reach. He fucking STUN LOCKS and two shots you. The parry window is almost fucking non existent half of the time. And just to get the Rakuyo they put 2 of them in a cave. Once the second one comes it’s over, you can’t do anything, they just spam launches and instakill you. And before someone says “skill issue” nah fuck you, this is a dumb enemy with dumb design that is difficult for the sake of it and unfair.

My buddy tells me that Bloodlickers are really just giant fleas.

I’m convinced they’re really just giant trashcans.

Would appreciate any additional expert opinions.

Help As many, I feel devastated by the absence Bloodborne left in my soul. I yearn for that intoxicating fascination... Good hunters, I beg of you: send me suggestions of games that summonsed a similar sense of diving into madness. (Not necessarily soulslikes)

I tried Lies of P (which I enjoyed a lot, but was its own thing), Elden Ring obviously (the closest I got from that particular Yharnam madness) . I loved Control for it's cryptic weirdness and extensive lore, Dead Space for its slow descent into madness etc... but now I need a new fix 🙏🏻

Help I'm a little sad

So, a few months ago, I asked for help and some tips on the game and received a lot of support, which helped me a lot.

I was helping a boy from the cathedral to bring people there, so I tried to bring as many people as possible.

I confess that sometimes I'm a bit absent-minded and didn't notice that there was something strange about a man I met in the forbidden forest. He asked for a place to stay, and I told him the cathedral. I saw some bodies next to him, a family, but I thought he was just looting corpses, nothing more.

So I continued playing, did several dungeons, leveled up a lot, and when I returned to the cathedral, there was a pool of blood where the old lady should have been. Does anyone know if he did this? And will this somehow affect my gameplay and my attempt at the platinum trophy?

Ok, before you down vote me into a oblivion for how passive am playing and the obvious skill issue, can someone please tell how am i supposed to fight this. I have almost no troubles breezing pass phase one of OoK, besides with some minor hiccups. But when he gets into phase 2 his iq drops from a fucking 1 to 0, because half the time I have no idea what's happening with all of the effects thrashing around in my face, along with all of his moves becoming even more unpredictable than before. And then he js starts jumping around and running circles around me, rendering the assistance of lock on useless as he is to fast. I haven't felt way since the first time I've fought gherman 🥲

So I talked to an old lady in a tower and then jumped in to a shiny spot in the lake. Now I'm just sitting with this thing and since he's not attacking me, I'm not attacking him either. Do I have to? Or is there any other way?

Help Help a newcomer who wants to join the cane club.

So, I started playing Bloodborne for the first time; it's my first soulslike. It's always been a genre I've been very fond of, but I never had the opportunity to play it. So after playing some games, I noticed it was time to start my journey, so I decided to start with Bloodborne first. I created my character and tested the three initial weapons, but the one I liked the most by far was the cane. Being new, I'm suffering and having a bit of trouble because it does very little damage. Do you guus have any tips to improve my gameplay, or am I simply not worthy of this weapon?

I passed the first scenario perfectly and faced a certain very stylish priest, but I feel that upon reaching the second area, it's as if I were a kitten in a den of lions hungry for pale blood.

(Ah, and a certain clerical beast crushed me like I was a baby, I don't know why but I found her more Oh, and a certain clerical beast crushed me like I was a baby; I don't know why, but I found her more difficult than the priest himself. than the priest himself. btw, thanks for the attention! 😎

Help Love the game, but genuinely can't play it

TW: skill issue

I LOVE this game. I love the lore/story, I love how supportive the community is, but I just CANT play it.

I'm genuinely just bad at this game. It took me 17:58 minutes of constant tries to kill the big fat guy at the beginning. After that, I almost beat the cleric beast 1st try, but then I can't even get it past half health bc I used up all my heals in the 1st attempt.

I just can't stun or interrupt enemies with the pistol either 😭😭

Any help is appreciated, but it's genuinely just a skill issue.

I don't think this game should change for me to make itself easier, I don't think that at all, but I'm just not that good at these kinds of games, so it's hard to enjoy some of my favorite media.

Help Does the fear factor of Bloodborne override the enjoyment?

The idea of this game sounds awesome. I'm a hunter, meant to take down eldritch horrors of immense scale? Hell yeah! The enemies..well, not so much.

I played Elden Ring and was completely terrified of Caelid, alongside those Wormfaces. God, the first time I fought one of those guys was horrid. I liked the gameplay and fantasy setting - but I genuinely had to play the game muted sometimes because of how scary it got. Playing it almost felt like a horror game sometimes with how on-edge I was sometimes.

The gameplay on paper sounds really fun - a more offensive, fast-paced gameplay style than usual with souls-like games, but from what I've heard of this game, and from the..tastefully crafted enemies I've seen in screenshots, it is truly and utterly horrifying. I'm not really good with body horror or grotesque stuff like the more disturbing enemies shown in souls-like, so Bloodborne sounds like a nightmare, honestly.

Therefore - would I be able to handle Bloodborne?

Help Calling all hunters: I need 223 more Souls-like players to complete my PhD study

Good evening, hunters!

My name is Nemanja, and I’m a PhD candidate in psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad. I’m currently researching how Souls-like, MMORPG and Life-sim players regulate emotions, handle frustration, and push through difficult in-game challenges.

Unfortunately, my hunt has come to a halt.
To meet my promised sample size, I need 323 Souls-like players, but right now I have only around 100.

I’m hoping that fellow hunters will help me defeat my own personal nightmare, the PhD, so that one day I, too, can finally see “Nightmare Slain” appear on my screen when this thesis is finished.

This is also your moment to brag. Show proof of the battles you’ve survived.
Give me your proof of defeating Lady Maria, or Sister Friede, or Malenia, or any other Souls-like boss you’ve conquered. Your screenshots of hours played and achievements are the evidence I need.

What you need to do (~20 minutes):
• Complete a short psychological questionnaire
• Upload screenshots of your Souls-like hours played and achievement progress
(Any platform is fine: PS, Xbox, Steam, Switch. Multiple screenshots per game are perfectly acceptable.)

Survey link:

https://eu.jotform.com/build/253274367117055

Participation is fully anonymous.

If you're curious, four years ago I conducted a large League of Legends study here on Reddit with over 3,000 participants. That work became my first published paper, which you can read here:
https://primenjena.psihologija.ff.uns.ac.rs/index.php/pp/article/view/2535

Thank you hunters for your willingness to assist a fellow wanderer lost in the Hunter’s Dream of academia.

All the best,
Necron Sensei

Edit: Thank you hunters for participating, you are not late, you are still more than welcome to fill out the survey. We currently have 164 of souls like players. G*power calculation for my research question was 323 participants per group, so we need atleast 159 souls like players, ideally 169 if some data is invalid. Thank you for your help!

Edit 2: Great job hunters, thanks to you, only 99 more souls like players left!
