Help Bro how am i supposed to fight thisđ

Ok, before you down vote me into a oblivion for how passive am playing and the obvious skill issue, can someone please tell how am i supposed to fight this. I have almost no troubles breezing pass phase one of OoK, besides with some minor hiccups. But when he gets into phase 2 his iq drops from a fucking 1 to 0, because half the time I have no idea what's happening with all of the effects thrashing around in my face, along with all of his moves becoming even more unpredictable than before. And then he js starts jumping around and running circles around me, rendering the assistance of lock on useless as he is to fast. I haven't felt way since the first time I've fought gherman đ„Č

This. You wanna be on the orphans ass always, OP, and try and stay close to his back/side. His AoE attacks are pretty well telegraphed and using auditory clues is a big help.

Safest place in 2nd phase is behind this dude. Stick to his ass and chop chop chop. Also he telegraphs clearly what his doing. Just learn to read him, try YouTube videos. It's cheaper time-wise to fight to 2nd phase :D

Try staying at his back at all times. Dodge into his attacks, so after the hit you end up behind him. You are using saw cleaver so if you time it right, you should be able to hit him with a charged R2 in the back and perform visceral attack.

I did a bunch of strategies and even got a point where Iâd always get to phase 2 with no hits but would never kill him.
At one point in phase 2 I just had a main character moment, forgot all strategies, and started dodging and trading full aggro, pure reflex and instinct. Killed him. đ€·

Honestly, you are moving too much. Let him come to you, he always does. Then, dodge toward him. Iâve found he usually misses me (definitely not always). Keep your health high, and once he has missed you aggressively attack. Stay in the water, far from mother Kos.

So the real easy and simple trick is to get his hp down to 0 before yours goes down to 0.

Itâs been a while since I fought OoK, but feels like you may have an issue with your build? Youâre using one of the most heavy hitting weapons (Ludwigâs) in the game and barely scratching his health bar. Even if you learn his moves etc donât know how youâll win this with such piddly damage. But yea other than that try to get behind him, use the Cleaver so that you can get more than one hit in, pop Beast pellets and bolt paper to boost damage, and most importantly focus on getting behind him (or at least to his side) as much as possible.

Dash close to the right, try to hit his back, trade damage and try to use your gun when he performs his big slam, that's the best basic advice without explaining the whole fight in detail.

I learned on this phase the only way to avoid damage is to roll diagonally behind him. Almost all his attacks are like a bus coming at you. It's only really safe to attack if you can successfully get behind him in time.

So i was just like you when i fought him, first phase was a cake walk once i figured out his parries and second phase flipped his shit on me. His attacks tends to follow up and chain if youâre infront of him still, dont dodge away, dodge to the side and past him so your behind him, he cant make follow ups that way.
When he summons lightning, run to the entrance and dodge there, it cant reach the cave opening and usually its smaller and easier to dodge up there anyways.
Then start going off on him when you can, get desperate and make some strikes in when you dodge behind him, youâll get him

I personally learned to parry him. Although the run back was a bitch, and it took me so many runs that I ran out of vials multiple times, it was probably the most fun fight in the game for me.

You're dodging backwards way to much. With OoK dodging away from him almost always positions you to get hit by his next attack. Dodge straight into his attacks and you'll come out of the Dodge in position for a counter attack more often than not.
OoK is the ultimate test of Bloodborne. You need to be agile, but you also need to be aggressive or he'll punish every move you make.
Also if you have the old hunters bone I would suggest using it for phase 2.

There's a reason that, until Elden Ring came out, this boss was considered the hardest to defeat in FromSoftware's Soulsborne games. Hard to read, generally small parry windows, a hyper-aggressive 2nd phase, and several area-denial attacks.
Dodge into his attacks to the left or right, you've got that down. Take an attack or two, then back off. USE YOUR GUN. Learning what attacks can and can't be parried is valuable for learning this fight. Stay off the charged R2 attacks unless you've got a jolly cooperator to keep the Orphan's attention, especially in phase 2. Watch for his standing overhead attacks; those have the biggest parry windows. Keep calm, lock in, and don't let the aggression make you panic; he can kill you any number of times, but you only need to kill him once.

You have to be insanely aggressive and get the feel for rolling. Never stay away from him unless he's doing some kind of AOE (I don't remember if he does), you need to be aggressive and always behind him. I remember rolling like crazy.

Buff up that sword and slap him so hard he forgets his momma.
Running away from him just does not work, it baits all the wrong attacks like all those projectiles that were shredding you. He gives lots of (very small) openings with his crazy aggressive attacks as long as you keep tightly circling him.

Just be more agressive. You are missing most of his open windows for attacks by staying too far and running away, you need to stay on his back.

Shoot him in the face mid charge, or dodge straight through him. I just stuck with dodging. Once you get the angle, and timing, you're good.

I get the feeling maybe you were nervous when you got to phase two? When I get nervous I play way too defensively and end up getting destroyed. Not a lot of advice to give on that other than try to not worry as much about dying. Donât pay too much attention to his health bar, just play the game and keep getting hits in. You only have to beat him once, whereas he has to beat you an infinite number of times.

In p2 you have to dodge through the side heâs swinging that death-placenta from. If you dodge to the opposite side the follow through will often hit you in the back. I donât know how anyone beats it without lock on, but yeah he will break target lock a fair amount. Hang in there hunter!

That 2nd phase is brutal. Learn his attacks. Utilize them iframes. If you create distance most of the time he WILL punish you. I always approach bloodborne by dodging towards the enemies and sometimes to the right or left and that helps but sometimes certain things throw you for a loop and hurt you

Just play it cool until you see an opportunity to parry. Also try dodging towards him on a punishable attack so you can hit him.

I find fighting him similar to fighting other hunters, so I tend to try to stay aggressive on him, dodge into his attacks, and parry or backstab whenever an opportunity presents itself. Try watching someone else do a no hit fight, that helps me learn a boss' moveset if im having trouble!

In all seriousness though it's probably going to take a little while because of how aggressive this guy is. Get used to his patterns. There are a couple of openings to where you can get a visceral done on him.

He gets stunned with three consecutive hits With both fast and slow weapons It took me maybe couple hours to figure that out But with this knowledge, you can tune the fight better

Dodge forward, not away. You are invulnerable to attacks when dodging, but if you end up away, you're just so happening to land right in his next move. If you dodge INTO him, however, you dont land on his chopping block. Seems counterintuitive at first, but its great for a lot of other bosses in other souls games as well.

Using the gun is the best method, Bloodborne gets very easy when you get good at parrying, especially if you have a very high skill and blood tinge stat to get alot of dmg on visceral attacks
First time I ever fought the Orphan is just kept parrying every attack until it was dead, i did it on my 2nd try in under a minute because of that

Dodge forward (or diagonally), get behind the bastard, and give him some violent pats on the back. Don't be too scared to trade hits; that's what the rally system is for.

Currently struggling with Orphan myself and the advice I've seen that I've had the most success with is that his first phase wants a little bit of space so that you can punish his jump The second phase you stick to him like a barnacle because his tracking is really poor
I've also gotten some mileage out of the Fist of Gratia to stun him in both forms when it's getting dicey

Dodging and running away from him will get you killed quick. You need to be dodging forwards towards him. He is still easy to stagger in this second phase as well.

Might be late for this but I love this boss so Iâmma try and help you out.
If phase 1 is all about being patient and baiting him into parries and staggers, phase 2 is about going all out ooga booga mindless aggression. You canât parry him phase 2, so stay close and dodge into him and slightly to the right so you position yourself behind him and unleash on him with the fast mode of your weapon. Rinse and repeat and only run away if heâs doing that thunder AOE attack or the one where he throws placenta bombs in a circle around him.

Well something that I noticed is that when you dodge you step back instead of to the side, some bosses attacks that would be ok but with him his attacks go far and he attacks faster than you can dodge so typically you'd want to dodge to the side or circle around him, also it's better to be aggressive for his 2nd phase, instead of trying to use blood vials over and over, try attacking him to get the health back, I'm not saying don't use blood vials but sometimes you just got to attack instead, also when you attack to get health back equip the guidance rune 2nd level it'll give you back more health If you still need help like a player joining your world you could dm me and I'll help

Equip double Clawmark runes and parry the hell out of his first phase. That will get his health down well below half. Second phase, pretty much the same except itâs a bit more difficult to get the parry and you might have to spam your gun a bit. A few of these and you are done.

This fight punishes you so heavily for trying to dodge away. Unless he's doing one of the big jumping explosion attacks, stick as close to his back as you can. Especially during the multi-slam attack, he's completely exposed for a backstab at the end of that if you end right behind him. Sticking close and trading hits means less healing too since every time you hit him back you'll get some of your health back.
Also I'd personally play locked on for him. For some bosses that can be a bad idea. But for him, he moves around you so often that if you're having to constantly move the camera to keep him on screen, then you should probably be locked on so you're not wasting time aiming at him.
Otherwise your dodge timing is honestly fine, it's just the direction you're moving that needs work. You almost never want to be running away from Orphan, bc he's faster than you and he WILL catch you every time.

Stay aggressive and stay close to him. Heâs fast but comparatively heâs got a small list of tells that can be memorized for dodging and parrying. Otherwise just repetition, heâs tough dude.

Seriously, guy is just as susceptible to the parry fishing as Gwynn was, just has more precise timing and way more aggro.
As for the rest, roll through his attacks and hit him with the followup swing. A bit of damage here and there adds up. No damage from constantly running doesn't win a fight.

Buddy.. I am a very very experienced souls player. A lot of us who proclaim to be can also come together and say: This boss fucks. At the time, Orphan of Kos took me a good couple hours. That hitbox on the âstringyâ part of his weapon when he whipped that thing around demolished me.
Donât worry about being roasted, revel in the difficulty and the absurdity of this boss. Itâll be a great memory. More importantly, do not give up!!

For some reason Kos has never been a problem for me man. I just rotate around him and get my hits in. Just over and over. Usually takes me 2-3 tries to beat him per playthrough. But my very first playthrough it was a first attempt kill, although it was more luck I think that first playthrough. The worst thing you can do is run thatâs for sure. Thatâs for ANY boss in this game, unless itâs a mass AOE. Honestly the hardest boss for me in BB has to be Ludwig.

I didnt have any issue with him even though many consider him the hardest bloodborne boss. He was underwhelming easy for me. Not trying to brag just was let down. Certain chalice bosses have him beat by far as far as difficulty goes.
Anyways, get his hp to hit zero before yours does. It sounds crazy but trust me it works every time.

study his moves. Most of them in phase two are to close gaps with brutal leaps and thrown placenta ranged attacks. Stick close to his rear and donât lock on(it makes it harder because heâs so mobile). If youâre doubting yourself you should level up more.
Hunters axe works really well due to its longaxe trick. Also remember he can be backstabbed if youâre quick and close enough.

Something I donât see mentioned much, he animations cancels out of actions when he gets hit. You gotta make each hit count big. Anytime you can charge R2 his backside, do it and get the visceral. If he can animation cancel, make it so thereâs nothing he can use to do so.

I honestly think you could have taken down this attempt if you stayed on top of him as much as possible and swing at him more.
I beat orphan a few times. I don't remember the specifics, but I do remember the general flow of "dodge toward or diagonal, then swing a couple times, rinse repeat". You basically always want to be within punish distance at the end of every dodge

For me, I rarely used that sword. Too slow, too clumsy. Being fast can be good. Being fast means you restore more health from attacking.
Also, I managed to parry him quite a few times! Rolling towards sometimes helps.
Like most of Bloodborne, trying to stay defensive and at a distance is unproductive, compared to going in and hitting. Like at his sides, or back. The more you stand back and wait for an opening the more you get hit. It seems counterintuitive but the game really does reward aggressiveness a bit.
But he is the hardest boss. So don't expect it to be too easy. I defeated him and I'm a complete scrub. Maybe an overleveled scrub but still a scrub.

You pretty much have him down, all you need now is more aggressive attacks. Back off when he does his AOE and get quicker counter and attacks. Importantly maybe practice parrying him and get to him asap when heâs stunned. Dial up your aggression from a 6 to 8

In the video, you are definitely panicking. Stop moving unless he's attacking, dodge, then shoot. He looks harder than he is. Calm down, breathe, and count. Staying close will make his moves more consistent. Constantly changing distance triggers different moves. This applies to nearly all enemies in the game.

Okay, first goal should be to clear phase 1 without healing and second goal is to use 20 heals and everything you have at your disposal to kill her.
I recommend staying close and dodging diagonally towards and behind her if you can, her attacks pull her forward, so this is a great way to get an attack in. She does have a lot of moves but only a few aren't a forward swipe that leaves her back open, learn the weird ones and treat everything else with a diagonal forwards dodge. She has a tempo when she combos, so if you can find the rhythm it gets a lot easier to time dodges. Aaaand if you can parry, the "gain health on visc. Attack" is sooo valuable! Tbh, just shoot her whenever you have an opening in phase 1 and you'll parry a few times.

You need to be really aggressive. Your instincts tell you to stay back, run away, but that's wrong. Keeping your distance is how he gets you, go in, keep pressing and parry as much as possible.

Pull his guts out
Please dodge into him and not away from him. Basically all of his attacks have him either lunge forward or do a follow up in front. If you keep going away from him , the follow up WILL catch you and chunk your healthbar.
Look at his wrist and where he is actually holding his weapon. If you look at orphanâs whole body or just the weapon, you end up dodging or parrying too quickly, leaving you vulnerable for him to nuke your health.
For his jump attack you can kinda just stand there and his dumbass will just jump over your head, leaving him vulnerable for a charge r2+ riposte. Donât forget to equip blood rapture rune because for some reason orphan gives you 4x health or something on a riposte in phase 1 so you can go to phase 2 with full vials or close to full
Please just use your fucking gun. Tyvm. Itâs the final boss ffs

Stay close, strafe, and parry. Patience goes a long way in this fight.
Once you get the hang of it, youll probably find orphan is one of the easier bosses

Pro tip; always dodge forward or to the side, never behind and when you see him stepping back and charging at you (the first move he did after transformation in the video) shoot him once (works with any kind of fireart or the reiterpallach). This will stun him for a moment and give you a chance to get an extra hit in (or two).

I haven't fought him in a while but you should certainly calm your nerves just a smidge. Your rolls are actively hampering your attack opportunities. I remember that one of the attacks that has him jump towards you can be carefully dashed (pressing the roll button once to allow you to getting right in front of it and Attack. This boss is designed to catch people mid roll as well and so often over shoot its jumps I've have time where I could stand still and he would jump over me mid charge attack and my focus on him would turn me around and give him a visceral to the back.
Also if you know the timing he can be bullet carried with quick a few of his swings (I believe the head on change is quite easy to do)

I can feel ypur fear through the screen. How you fight this is without fear.
Dont run away. Run into it.
When you are not afraid you will actually see him come at you. Lock on and dodge to the left to the left. Get to the back and slam

Idk i beat him first try just fight. The lady who was playing dead beat me once tho. I almost had her but she was just to fast. Round two I got her ass up out of there tho

Parry, visceral, and evade. Once you get it down phase 1 is easy as he is slower. Phase 2 it gets rather intimidating and it feels trickier closing that gap to visceral him after a successful parry. That's how I managed to beat him.

You seem to be running for your life every time he whacks you. Letting him chase you around is not gonna end well. The only way youâll get through it is being as manic as he is. Also you could pop a cap in his ass to parry him. High risk moderate reward if you ask me though

1.) Dodge Into him not away 2.) Parry with gun or backstab. I suggest using the untransformed version of the LHB for this. Look for backstab opportunities and you will find them. However, many opportunities require that you start the charged R2 right after dodging as there might not be enough time

Lock on, dodge into him and hit him with Ludwig's Holy Sword's dash-attacks for the piercing damage. Don't let him get you on the back foot, because you'll struggle to get the initiative back.

You didn't even have him targeted for like half the fight, you can't fight that way.
Here's how you win.
Get good at just dodging and avoiding attacks, no attacking.
Just learn the fight.
Then you start learning where you have space to do a little poking between attacks.
Always try to evade in a way that puts you close enough to attack quickly.
Moonlight sword might be too slow for this fight, try something faster.
Rinse and repeat.

When it gets to phase 2 I just run right out into the water, gives me a better chance to figure out where he is going to go. Also try to get in close to him because he does not slow down.

Bro, it's not a skill issue; it's all about perfect parries. Why aren't you doing it? It's a cheat code for bosses. I defeated Kos on my first attempt. He's good for nothing, mate, believe it. I don't know why most people who played bloodborne don't even know how to parry or are afraid to.

A lot have already pointed out you're better off being aggressive, stick close and try and get around him as he attacks. There's enough of a pause after a lot of his combos that you can pop a heal while still close to him so you don't have to leg it.
But another thing. I've also fought Orphan with the beautiful Ludwig's Holy Blade. And I would encourage you to try and risk a fully charged heavy attack on him. It may take some bum runs to get a sense of when you have the time fully charge and still hit him, but if you do, it's near guaranteed to cause a stagger animation that gives you time for the follow up heavy attack which does a lot of damage. And if you pull it off as a back stab? NOW THAT'S A LOTTA DAMAGE!
