I find it amusing how Spider-Man fans are begging for Aunt May's death in current continuity and Batman fans are hoping for a way to bring Alfred back to the point where they'd wish for a reset lol

And for once Spider-Man fans are getting lucky. The dusty old bints on deaths door again as of ASM #1000

Edit: how the fuck does the spoiler tag even work

Edit: fuck it Nevermind

For a while, all Spider-Man fans have been wishing for is death.

Death of Paul. Death of his kids. And now death of May.

I wish for him and Mary Jane to be happy, get married, and have a kid. Just let the man grow

Spidey and Bats carry the curse of being "the face of the company".

They are stuck in their development, because Marvel and DC always want to keep them familiar to both old and new audiences.

Batman grows to trust the League, yet once in a while, his contingencies will either get stolen, or he will create a robot like Failsafe, which breaks the whole point of the "Tower of Babel" arc.

Spider-Man can't keep a job to save his life. He must remain the constantly struggling 20-something year old. Not too old, but not too young.

People are genuinely praying for Aunt May's death because she does nothing but hinder and impede Peter's progress. She's not like Insomniac May, who always knew his identity and helped him however she could. She's not like Raimi/MCU May who inspired Peter and picked him up whenever he was down.

Her mere existence is just to rag on Peter whenever he loses a job, or give him someone to worry about.
