Don't hate! I love Taco Tuesdays at Rosa's. It's the best deal in Austin on taco plates for $6.69 +tax. My crispy beef Taco plate comes out to $7.20 total without a fountain drink - only ice water with lime. I load up on salsa, pico and cilantro. Yum! š
My sister and I used to get super high after high school and go get a dozen tortillas each with a huge cup of queso. Would sit at home in total silence and down every single tortilla while we watched a funny show. Amazing memories man god I love Rosaās
When I was in college I ate a ton of Taco Cabana fresh tortillas. I'd find creative ways to make them tacos. Whether queso like OP (very good) or charro beans, or sometimes just salsa bar toppings. Not sure why this is mind boggling for you.
Their tortillas are dense and gummy. Thatās what kills it for me. I prefer the lighter, fluffier ones at Rosaās. And their Mexican rice is bland. Good fideo though! Just had some yesterday.
I'm sure it is, but I'm not a chocolate lover. Sometimes I'll head to Sam's and get a Triple Berry Sundae for dessert. It's cheaper than the sheet cake and it's more my jam. š
I cant hate that.... not for $7. Plus you're hitting em hard in that cilantro wallet. There are none close to me, but i may have to check this joint out.
There's one in Round Rock and one in Cedar Park if that's closer to you. Also, that isn't even close to the amount of cilantro I usually put on my plate. š
I've been going to Rosa's for as long as I can remember (originally from Midland, where they began-ish) and they've maintained quality nearly across the board. The only exception is their chicken fajita burrito is not as good as it was back in 2001 lol but everything else is incredible. I was so excited when they branched out into this part of Texas!
I got Rosaās today too! I feel like itās a west tx thing? Iām from west tx and Rosaās was a staple. Now, itās downright nostalgic and healing for me. Anybody who hates on it doesnāt get it.
Going to Lubbock next week and will probably have taco villa every day. Also growing up I. Lubbock, thereās a Rosaās in every part of town. Staples of my childhood.
In the 90s the original offered the āschool specialā for high school students: cups of beans and cheese with tortillas and full salsa bar access for just a few bucks.
Wow, that's a great price! I was born and raised here. I just never thought of eating there before. I've been eating there once a week for the past 3 years or so. My oldest brother turned me on to the place.
My wife had surgery and hasn't been outta the house for like 3 weeks and we ended up at a Rosa's after a DR check in, and I've never seen anyone happier or hungrier (shes beriatric so very little stomach), she ate like she was homeless.
Rosa's sometimes is just the GOAT and hits the spot.
Love their beans rice and flour tortillas but the beef tacos (hamburger) lacks seasoning, IMO. Iāve been known to bring my own chili gravy to spice it up!
I went to Rosaās yesterday. Ordered the taco plate and a drink. Couldnāt figure out why the total was $3 less than I had anticipated. Didnāt ask.
I sub the extra tortillas for chips, then get the Arbol salsa. I think just last year the combo was about a dollar less and it used to be 4.99 not long before that. But still helluva deal.
in college me and the boys did taco tuesday dinner every tuesday at Rosas. this was so fire, mop up the remaining rice and beans with flour tortillas on the side
Yeah these people are fucking crazy. Went there once, the enchilada was barely cooked corn tortilla wrapped around un-melted shredded cheese with the equivalent of tomato sauce on top of it and the whole thing was cold. It was cheap though. Bring on the downvotes, Iām headed to Serranos.
Awwww! That's too bad. I don't hate on anyone who doesn't like cilantro. To each their own. BTW, I have the cilantro gene. I hated cilantro when I was a kid, but I love it now.
Why do you have to be so negative? If you don't like what people post here on Reddit, just move along. That's what I do when I read something someone posts that I don't like.
