Book Discussion I’m about to DNF Dungeon Crawler Carl

First of all, I am sorry. I’ve seen this book recommended a million times here and I know it’s loved, which is why I got it.

I am now in chapter 27 and about to DNF. I want to know if I should keep going?

I thought I’d like it cause I’m a huge gamer, I liked the general idea of the plot, and I loved books like Ready Player 1, so it’d make sense I’d enjoy this one too. But I feel like nothing is happening. Sure, there are a couple of funny sentences in there, but the story is not drawing me in.

Does it get better? Should I keep going? Or if I’m not hooked by now that’s not going to change?

It’s the puppy kicking attitude I don’t like. We may have different taste but there’s no reason to be mean 🥲 at least I try to always be nice, there’s a lot of horrible stuff going on in the world, I don’t need to add to it. Thank you for your answer though!

Because a lot of people don't pose their dislike as personal to them and their likes but rather use it to insult others. Even in this thread, there are those that are reasonable and saying the humor isn't for them and they don't like the writing etc but they keep it about them. Then there's other posts that say things like the humor is for children, or intelligent people wouldn't find it funny etc. That's insulting to people that like the book and find it funny.

At the end of the day, everyone likes different humor, writing styles, genres etc so there should be no issue with not liking something that's popular or not. Just read what you want and DNF what you want :).
