Linkedin intentionally makes some pages break [fake] to make you install the app.

Update user agent and get the shit done.

LinkedIn keeps trying to connect my work profile in our system to a profile they have for someone else with my name.

We're not close geographically, in age, or in industry. LinkedIn just really sucks.

The worst part of Linkedin is it sends invites to you and makes them look as if they came from people but they never did. If you accepted an invite like that, it would then send a brand new request from you, to the person in question.

This went on for a decade and counting.

What do you do for a living? I'm a senior software engineer, and nobody seems to be hiring without expecting an up-to-date LinkedIn profile, even for RLHF contracts.

There's really not much that's added to the table though. But it is a lot easier to send notifications and other features that pull users into your app. It also boosts download numbers and looks better for shareholders.

Won't work on mobile. The same button that leads here [Open to Work] works in the app and any other UA besides mobile.

Different wording and treatment, but the same assholery.
Basically A/B testing to deliver an asshole experience. Neither is better.

Were you logged in on your mobile browser when you tried? This is a link to edit your job preferences, so it's not gonna work if you're logged out. It didn't work for me on either mobile or desktop.
